He brought in vets? Reasoner, Mottau, Rolston, Pandalfo, Staios(who was actually bearable and you had a problem with him). No one, and I mean no one with any hockey knowledge thought these were viable hockey players that would be good vets for this team. Saying he should rush these kids(which he may because he is a moron) because he is not capable of bringing even marginally decent talent to the club is short sighted. These kids minus a couple you've mentioned are not ready in any way for the NHL. You also take the chance of ruining these kids future as players and the teams(which doesn't seem to matter all that much). OK, I'm done. I can't even discuss this anymore. - Cptmjl
Don't get frustrated...this team isn't going anywhere as long as this management team is running things...too bad, back in the 80's the Islanders were great team to watch... |

"It’s nice that the Islanders gave Rangers fans a couple of things to cheer about this week by twice taking out the Penguins. You know what would be nicer? If they gave Islanders fans something to cheer about one of these years."
NY Post's excellent sports columnist Mike Vaccaro's "Vac's Whacks" column from this past Sunday's paper. I just saw it today, and I laughed my ass off. |

I can't even comment anymore. I'm so done with this (frank)ing team.
It has, HAS, to make Tavares sick that certain players decided to show up when the season was ostensibly OVER. Just like last season. It's complete bullpoop. |

AGreed...that's why I would trade either Okposo or Grabner in the summer and get a top four defenseman...probably have to give a draft pick or prospect also...Okposo trade value hasn't been as high as it is now...I have afeeleing he'll be on the team next year and he'll start off similiar to Comeau played at the beginning of the season and you won't get anything for him... |

It's a disgrace. You have to wonder when JT will lose it and tell Wang and Snow where to go. |

Hey, remember when we lost 3-0 to the same team on our home ice in a game that mattered back in November? I do, and I'm sure JT does too.

He's worth nothing more than a draft pick. Any team that trades a Top 4 d-man for either of the guys you mentioned is brain dead. |

The first 3 games I went to this year were all shutouts
In other news..I was there tonight, and that Donovan stretch pass to Martin was a god damn thing of beauty. TV highlights don't do it justice. I hope that's just a glimpse of the future for him. |

Dee Karl: The Last Night At the Coliseum 4-5-12
What will tonight have in store as we bid the season goodbye? - Dee Karl
I've been to the coliseum for games a few times, and I wish for the fans of the Islanders:
1) new owner
2) a new facility
in order that the franchise doesn't relocate. I'm not an Islander's fan, but it would be shame to lose this loyal fan base. |

I'd be a fan even if they played in Compton. I think there is light at the end of the tunnel. If Wang allows snow to sign one decent free agent next year I'd be happy
Donovan looks great. Good on his feet holds his ground and great awareness. Also throws nice stick checks |

I still think that the reason they don't sign anybody is this: if the Penguins (for one example) offer similar money, which team would you play for, at this point in NHL history? We have to start knocking on the door before agents get serious about seeing us as anything but leverage. I really don't think it's because they are unwilling to pay- they seem to have no trouble paying their own guys.

We should definitely trade Okie.....Maybe it will work out as well as McCabe, Bertuzzi, Luongo, Charra, Jokinen, or any other shining example of jumping the gun and giving up on youth for nothing. Gotta love the itchy trigger fingers around here. - BleedBlueandOrange
KO did nothing this year when it mattered. All his BS scoring came in the last few weeks, when the team was out of the playoff race, for all intents and purposes. Same holds true for Bailey, Grabner. When the team needed their offense most, all three disappeared. KO was scratched for three games for Christ's sake. I'm not saying the Isles should just rid themselves of KO, but if the right deal came a long and KO needed to be included in it, I'd have no issue moving him out. How much longer are people expected to wait for players to start performing in October and November instead of waiting until February to start playing? |

You make it sound like Dehaan is tearing up the AHL. Donovan now has a whole wopping two games unders his belt. I understand your enthusiasm but its not realistic and I'm sorry it is stupid. You know what? You're probably right? Stupid and unrealistic, I can see Snow doing this... - Cptmjl
While I'd rather see the Isles get legitimate veteran D-men over de Haan and Donavan for next season, I know for certain that I'd rather see them on the Isles next year than Eaton and Jurcina. They can't possibly perform any worse than Eaton and Jurcina and at least they'll get some valuable experience. |

You have changed your stance on so may different subjects about anything involving this team I can't keep up. Now you are telling me not to get frustrated because of this management team? lol. Thanks for the heads up! I needed to hear that, I've been telling you that since we began this conversation and you have been saying different here and other blogs? Whats your angle? You say back in the eighties the Islanders were a great team to watch? Thanks for the info, were you alive in the eighties? |

Jethro...agree with both of your statements...some people have a problem with this statement but look for Snow to go with youth next season. It looks like Donovan will make it next year since he played a year in the minors and looks decent. deHaan would have made it but the injury set him back. Cizikas and Ulmstrom probably make the team up front. Don't forget about Aaron Ness also. Even if they brought two legit NHL caliber defensemen, Donovan would probably make it as the 6-7 defenseman. |

Having two kids with little or no NHL experience as our three or four dmen is not a good idea in any way. Let these kids develop and don't rush them. Saying I'd rather have them then Eaton and Jurcina is a little short sighted and not looking at the big picture. Donovan plays two games in the NHL and Dehaan a couple and the y are ready to be annointed NHL regulars on Hockeybuzz. Like you stated in the beginning of your post this team needs a Veteran presence on the blue line and everywhere else for that matter. Putting two kids on that blue line would be the stupidest thing that Snow could do. Which means it will probabaly happen |

You make it sound like Snow went with all vets in his line up last year? Counting Rolston, Reasoner, Mottau, and Pandalfo as legit veteran plpayers that could contribute is assinine and to imply that Snow gave that a whirl so now he has to plug the line up with kids is ridiculous |
