Dude I was thinking the same thing.
It's retarded in the most literal sense.
God if we could just land a pick in the 3-4 range it would salvage something.
Reminds me of a few years ago when Martin Gerber stepped in and stopped 36 shots vs. WSH when we were in the hunt for a top 5 pick. At 5th, Brayden Schenn, we could have even gone sooner.
Instead, we get Kadri, who hasn't even made a full time spot yet. In fact, he may be one of only a few guys from the top 10 drasfted that year that isn't playing full time.
I'll check that and get back to you - AngryWhiteMale

I was so happy to see him at no 9 on the most overrated list by NHLPA members this year, he belongs there - AngryWhiteMale
Ok, I have said it before and I will say it again.
If you are on the most overrated list, by definition, you aren't one of the most overrated players.

Did you see Foligno out there? A human wrecking ball. And Burke female doges and moans about how he wants size. Maybe he shouldn't pass them in the draft. - Unholy_Goalie

Don't count on it. People have seen this coming for weeks. They finally tank and then at the last minute they gain worthless points and screw themselves out of a better pick. |

The difference between teams that win Cups and those that miss the playoffs for seven years, are the teams that find Datsyuk and those that dream of finding him. |

Nobody saw that coming.
The Wings probably got bored that year after round 3 and gave the choice to the junior jun ior exec they had running for coffee...as back in those days, coffee wasn't delivered |

Burke promised truculence. Good to know he passed on it when he had the chance.
Keep up the Burke support. Can't wait to see you turn on him like you did with Wilson. It'll be fun. It always is. - Unholy_Goalie
Fun fact (although you've never once let those pesky little facts get in your way before): I never liked Wilson. I gave him a chance based on his reputation, but it became apparent he wasn't going to work out very early on.
But, while we're at it, let's retrospectively pick out a bunch of 30:1 long-shots who panned out so that we can go back and shred every team's drafting record.
In 2007, the Red Wings picked 5 players, the best of whom has played 14 career NHL games to date.
LOL!!! Tehy drafted Brendan Smith in the 1st ronud!!!11!!!!1 dallas drafted Jamey Bennn in teh 5th!!!!!

The messed up part is that guys like Foligno are exactly what Burke was preaching. You think he'd take special attention and actually do what he was saying he would do. It's just a small example but it's annoying that the Leafs have to trade guys like Keith Aulie for Carter Ashton to ATTEMPT to get a power-forward meanwhile, they're right there under his nose and he passes on them. |

What the (frank) are you talking about dude....
The difference isn't picking 4th rounders....the difference is sucking in the right years and picking up guys in the top 10 like Kane, Teows, Crosby, Malkin, etc.
Since you seem so bright...why don't you share who burke should pick up in the 4th round this year? since you have the crystal ball in hand. |

Paarjarvi had more pro gametime than Kadri, and may very well be a bust if he doesn't learn to do more than skate very fast.
Glennie just kinda fell off the face of the earth, can't really say much about that pick |

Gotta agree with this. I just don't get the defense of Burke by the apologists in here. Any one of them could have done what Burke has done - 're-stock' the Marlies with fair to middling prospects. Big deal. |

I guess we all forgot to ask ourselves what the WORST outcome would be for the Leafs.
Buffalo Wins
Leafs get a point
Maybe we should have predicted that.
Nice clear over the glass Phaneuf...
He is reminding me now of McCabe, he cannot do anything right. - GoneFullRetard
yep, and that point will be enough to keep the Leafs out of the top 5 of the draft, which leads to another mediocre prospect
Toronto doesn't have terrible prospects in the system, but that blue chipper is something that has alluded the organization for way too long |
