habsgal, good post, but another piece of the puzzle is something i mentioned from day one of this season... A good faceoff specialist. Gionta is back next season and Leblanc and Eller should be better but they need a top notch LW goal scorer. I agree with moving Campoli and Weber but I like Diaz and dont forget he was a rookie. He could be that missing PP specialist you are talking about. He may need another coupld of years but he has a great shot and good vision and has proven it on the international level during the international world hockey tourni where he was top 2 in scoring for a defenseman.

They'll still be short a number 1 center, and 4 defensemen - at least. - hscesq

Ok so correct me if I am wrong but if they do indeed buy Gomez out that would still count against the cap but if send him donw it will not right ? If that's the case then buy Kaberle out and send Gomer down he can play against Redden who is still rotting down there. |

4 in ONE game!
I hope Eller:
- stops taking useless penalties
- gets much stronger over the summer - number_23
his shoulder surgery after the season sure didn't helped.
For the rest, he has played well on the PK this season, I think he'll slowly become a Plekanec. The thing they didn't do properly is that they should have dropped him in Hamilton the first season he was here and let him play top minutes down there.
Same thing with Leblanc, I wish they didn't call him up at all this season. Let him develop in the AHL. The guy played in 6 different leagues in 5 years (midget AAA, USHL, NCAA, QJMHL, AHL and NHL), he needs stability.
Like Dubé was saying last night, the habs current depth is so thin, they are using guys that aren't ready for the NHL and ruining their development. |
