Wouldn't be surprising in the least if the Sharks miss the playoffs. |

Could you imagine the season Thornton would have if he played in Toronto? 100+ every year. No worries of having to perform for the critics in the playoffs. He'd be great. They should go and try and pry Luongo from the Canucks as well. |

I would rather take an arrow to the knee then watch Luongo play net in a Leafs Jersey. It would remind me of Glenn Healy playing net for the Leafs.
Don't tell healy that though he might say i fail at skating. |

None of those players have enjoyed playoff success. You really think they're a good solution?
Also, we don't need them. Both are on the decline of their respective careers. |

I forgot to mention that I figured it out with the help of some intensive research!
Example: Glen Healy was a good goalie before he took an arrow to the knee. Then he started playing goalie.

I'm just going to pretend I didn't read this likely scenario. - Juice
... My philosophy on the Leafs is to imagine what is the worst/stupidest move they can make or the worst possible result.
This one was a joke obviously, but predicting based on the worst outcome is surprisingly accurate a lot of the time.

Your predictions will be pretty accurate over time. - GoneFullRetard
In the JFJ era maybe. I don't think it's the case now. Burke has made some phenomenal trades. |

Burke was a great GM until he took an arrow to the knee, just before the Kessel trade.

Looking at the standings since Burke is at the helm, one would say his phenomenal trades haven't changed much of anything to the state of the leafs.
It's one thing to "win a trade" as people love to say/claim. But it's a completely different thing to build a winning team. Which so far, he failed to accomplish.
Edit: same goes for Gauthier in Montreal. It's a complete failure. |

Glad they lost, just 8-9 more losses to go and were all good.
Also from that bad game I did notice that Bozak played very well. Back checked stuck on his man stopped a goal from happening and caused Kessels goal.
Good for him. - wolfos412
Really. I didn't even notice Bozak. Thought he wasn't playing, that's how much he stood out. |

Well given the fact that when Burke and company took over the Leafs had less talent in their system than an expansion team, I think he's doing ok.
Same goes in Montreal after Gainey.
Though I would argue all day that the Leafs has less talent coming up after JFJ than Montreal after Gainey.
Carey Price wins that for the Habs.
Tuuka...
Still. Burke inherited what could quite possibly be the worst team ever. Then he moves the 2 1sts and a 2nd, but hey Kessel is the lone bright spot on this team this year.
Let's wait until the 08-09-10-11 draft picks have a chance to develop into full time NHLers before we close the book on Burke.
I thought we all wanted to build it properly, and now half of you are female doging and moaning that the team took a step back.
Look at Colorado.
Playoff team to 2nd worst in the league (Meaning Landeskog) to playoff team again. |

In all fairness...were a young/inexperienced team who has had stints of horrible goaltending. He has actually put some pieces back in the cupboards and gave us something to work with...not really an overnight thing to improve the team and prospects he had to work with. |

Michael Grange:
'At what point will Burke look at what he has and recognize what it is: a small, mentally weak hockey team with questionable leadership while lacking a top-flight goalie, a premier defenceman and an elite centre?' |

Have you had a look at this team previously to Burke's arrival? It was an unmitigated disaster.
Burke made our prospect pool much more deep. Our team also has several key pieces. No doubt we need a little extra help but I don't think we're far away from being a playoff team. |

... well except for the fact that the Leafs have more now than when he started, significantly more I would say.
I still give him a fail though and believe he should be fired for the one collosal blunder, idiocy with his goalies, and putting his friendship with Wilson ahead of the good of the hockey club.

They aren't in worse shape except for maybe a slightly worse cap situation.
