I'm finding out now that US soldiers are treated like crap compared to Canadians. I have friends who came back fro m6 months in afghanistan with $70-80k tax free. Here they make like $35k a year - muffin_man
Whoa...dude. You need to get you facts straight.
An E-6 with 6 years of service makes about 35K before taxes a year (all branches). We come back from deployments with money because war zones are tax free. We get an extra $150 per month for hazard duty pay and mainly because we can't spend money on anything.
Those friends are lying to you or they re-enlisted while in a war zone to get a signing bonus tax-free. The only enlisted people (non-officers) making 70K per year are E-9's with over 22 years. Officer's are a little different but still need at least 10 years in before making 70K per year. |

it's true.
During my second 6 month deployment...this was a breakdown of my pay:
E-5 over 4: 2487.60
Hazard duty pay: $150
Nuclear Pro pay: $100
Sub Pay: $100
So, in the six months, I made roughly 17K. We actually lost money on deployment because the Navy would stop your housing allowance. Housing allowance was about an extra $1200 a month for rent and food.
In six months on land, more bills and taxes, but I made about 23K.

If you go back and look at it, you didn't say anything about loving Perry, all you said was "love that guy" then posted a pic of Perry. Considering the topic was Phineas and all you said was "love that guy" I don't think I'm out to lunch to think you were talking about Phineas and somehow got confused, but whatever it's not gonna ruin my day or anything.
and yes the Bruins do suck, but we are going to the play offs, and yes we are exiting in the first round but at least my team will have been there. |

if you meant the guy that you posted the pic of you should have said love this guy, even "love this guy too" would have worked, otherwise it doesn't make sense.

military pay is based on rank not job. a bullet sponge makes the same as a medic in the military. some jobs get bigger signing bonuses and a monthly salary bonus, but the bonus is not much. Mine was $100 bucks a month. |
