I never had a problem with him as a coach. I love the emotion he brings.
Enough of the boring ass coaches who don't say a word behind the bench. - aime_les_totons
I agree, I think they're gonna need some fire behind the bench as long as its tempered with some discipline. |

I wouldn't mind giving Crawford a shot at it - habs12
Me either.
Frankly, I don't really see a lot of good candidates. |

Very short list.
I wonder if he'd keep Cunny around |

As much as I like Roy, I think I'd prefer seeing him as a GM.
Can't wait to see who will get that job (assuming Gauthier is canned). Lots of talk about Bergevin. |

Maybe so. Kinda wonder if Cunneyworth just wouldn't prefer being elsewhere. It's just been an awkward situation for him and everyone else. |

All things considered he's done well enough. They probably would have been best off to leave JM and poop can Goat and ride the season out but meh oh well. |

agree with everything except the bolded.
I think Cunneyworth had a real opportunity coming in and knowing full well within a week that he wouldn't be back to coach the (frank) out of this team. instead he continued with a semi watered down version of whatever martin was doing. |

It looks that way but how hard is it to flip a team brainwashed in JMs system to anything else of any relevance? Either way I was referring more to the poop that is the majority of this team and his ability to basically maintain some focus while Gauthier was (frank)ing Richarding everyone around. |

I'm not so sure you guys would like Crow as your coach. About the only 2 things I think you would enjoy would be a more open style and likely a high draft pick. |

yeah I think he's a competent coach and if you look at his profile, he's pretty much what the majority were saying they wanted in Montreal
former player
assistant in the AHL
head coach in the AHL
assistant in the NHL
head coach in the NHL
the guy earned his job that's for sure, he didn't steal it but like many other things this season he got poisoned by Goldmex. He had a chance to sit this guy down and to use some youth on his power play and didn't.
He has a pretty poop team in front of him that's for sure and who knows how Larry Carrière has tainted this coaching staff but still, I was hoping to see a bit more focus on forechecking and speed. I see the same old
edit: he'll get picked up by another team and I think he'll do well bu he needs to move on both for him and the team. especially for him. |

He definitely had the guns and goalie in Col. and blew it in Van. when they topped out. It is interesting that he's never really had any staying power behind the bench kind of suggests some attitude or friction issues. I would enjoy some more high tempo system but at the end of the day winning matters more. |

Larry Carriere is the next GM, he is behind the bench to see what he has to work with first hand |

He did use Gomez less than JM and the forecheck did seem to pick up from none under JM to some. I agree though he's been wishy washy and its hard to figure just what his system or plan is. |

I think he definitely rubs players the wrong way. I was excited when he came to Van to coach, but there was certainly a lack of D being played despite all of the guys we had on the back end. He didn't have much success in LA or Dallas, and despite winning in Colorado he didn't have all that much success there. It would have taken a pretty special coach not to win with all the talent there. |
