if there was no instigator rule, this crap would have stopped long ago. someone would have pounded him into submission... - isaiah520
I know he is a big hitter.. but until I watched the hits and went looking, i didnt realize how many times he has directed his contact to the head with the lunging motion...
I am still pissed. I was literally hot last night I was so angry.

No suppl disc for Kronwall on Voracek. PPOC was head but deemed full body on body hit. Not a hit NHL believes should be out of the game.

Kronwall could have chosen to do sometying different there, but his previuos choices in similar situations were the same as last night.
15 years ago, people would have loved this. The flyers also would have responded in kind.
If kronwall gts the hook last night, and/or gets suspended, why doesn't the coaching staff go nuts on him about being a repeat problem? He has skill and is an important part of their d core. If he does this in the playoffs, he could cost a cup team. I would think that management would be all over him about making better decisions.

This right here is the crux of the whole issue, no matter which side you come down on.
The instigator rule has made the game more dangerous, not less dangerous. Any person based in reality can see that. - MBFlyerfan
It is almost border line torture watching him skate around the ice avoiding guys wanting him to man up. Like I said.. i think I would have gone right at him.. (frank) the instigator rule.
Rinaldo was just on XM's Hockey This Morning show. Good inetrview.
Credited Laviolette for being a huge influence and teaching him to toe the line and keep himself out of trouble.
Said that having a guy like Jagr is great just because young guys can learn so much from him about how to approach the game, and handle their bodies to be in the best possible shape.
Gave Bryz credit for stepping up his play and said that Bryz is well liked in the room. He feels a lot of what Bryzgalov does in terms of the off the wall stuff is simply a technique to get his mind off hockey so he doesn't get burned out from the stress of being a goalie.
He also got a 10 minute misconduct last night at the end of the game for telling the refs they did a great job. - Jsaquella

I don't think he is specifically head targetting, but I do think he does a great job of recognizing when a player is moving himself into a position where he isn't suspecting the big hit. A lot of his head hits are a result of him stepping into a guy that is playing the puck and just not lookingq and he is really good at reading when that is going to happen.
His problem is that he needs to make a better choice about how he hits a guy. Maybe getting pounded himself would help that.
League claims they're trying to improve safety and get head injuries out of the game, then they front-page the hit. Despicable. - meckelangelo
Heres my question. Crosby is back on Sunday supposedly. Say they play Detroit and Kronwall throws that exact same hit.. and likely ends Crosbys career. Any discipline then? What is the limit.. is there a threshold?
I would have felt worse. Zetterberg shouldn't have to pay for Kronwall's misgivings.
Eye for an eye mentality is ruthless and inhumane. - bradleyc4
Thats how the NHL used to work. If a guy was running around hitting skill players then you run around and hit their skill players. Eye for an eye keeps everyone in line. Then NK would get pressure from Datsuk and Z to not go head hunting

That is why I think the coaching staff should be getting on him about it. Eventually he will do this and instead of someone coming after him, they will go after dat or zet
