I'd like to know also. My understanding is we only have two left, but I don't know anything about the "why?".

Your a little light when you say 30. Try 60. Everyone needs to move on at this point. How about Max Talbot almost at 20 goals? not bad for a 1.7 cap hit. Hes becoming one of my favorite players.
- FrankDrebbin

He's a joy.

And Jake just gets better and better. His play for the goal last night was all fight and a little luck.

Couts late in the game was stellar.

Bryz rocks my humongous universe.

G is a little Ginger GOD.

Grossmann is indeed a big man.

We can go on and on about the lads. They need to get healthy and drive at speed into the playoffs.

I've really enjoyed this season for the most part. I still believe this team can go far in the playoffs. If they play like they did last night they can beat anyone. And to think we have a plethora of sub 25 y/o's is great going forward.

you're only allowed 4 call-ups after the trade deadline, but they can stick with the team for the rest of the season (23-man roster no longer applies).

Before or after the funeral.

I worry about Sid's noggin.

- bodiva88

If he were to take a hit directly to his face like Voracek did last night.. i doubt he would ever skate again.

It was a clean hit.

Yes, the head was primary point of contact, but I like hitting in hockey and understand that sometimes the head will be the primary point of contact even when the hitter isn't making it so.

Jake has to keep his head up there.

- ggunky

I'm sorry but you're just wrong there. There's NO WAY JAKE can keep his head up. He had zero chance on the play. It wasn't like Lindros skating through the neutral zone with puck possession, head down all the way. This is a play that most Dmen in the league do not commit to based out of respect of the players and the game. Kromwall has been committing these 'clean' hits for a long time now.

Its like clock work.. puck gets spun around the end boards, where the far side winger corrals the puck, and BOOM.. shot to the head.

yes, such as college free agents and signed prospects. but I think you need available contract slots for those.

Niklas Kronwall delivered a crushing, but clean, hit to Philadelphia's Jakub Voracek on Tuesday night. Kronwall will not have a hearing for the play. He stood in at the blueline and delivered a huge hit that rocked Voracek and forced him to leave the game. Kronwall's shoulder made contact with Voracek's head while it was down, but he didn't launch himself. The 31-year-old rearguard is enjoying an excellent all-around season with the Red Wings. He has 14 goals, 31 points, 117 shots, 109 hits and 147 blocked shots in 67 games.

I agree. If you lead with your head, your head is going to get hit first.

No. Even Voracek said today he thought it was a clean hit and unavoidable once Kronwall stepped up on him. He did not think it was suspension-worthy, nor did Jagr, Talbot, Holmgren and others.

The problem is that it is totally confusing anymore. What is, what isnt, who can be suspended and who cant... All I know is that if it was Coby throwing that same hit.. i would have been expecting him to sit a few games. I dont care what jersey that player has on... thats a down right dangerous hit. It wasnt bang bang.. he feasts on those types of hits..
