It is what it is. I don't agree with the sentiment that doing more than what's been done will be tantamount to removing hitting from the game. The NHL is still soft on hits to the head, despite steps in the right direction. Of course, the license to league protected recklessness the instigator rule offers is a factor. I'm just going to accept disappointment and keep cheering for my team.

Yeah, I'm just getting increasingly frustrated. When what is supposed to be an outlet or fun interest becomes nothing more than another frustration, it's time to cut it off.

Isn't that how players are taught to forecheck? First man in goes for the body, 2nd guy goes for the puck? And didn't Letang put himself in a vulnerable position?
- bradleyc4

Letang was following through on a shot. Every player in the history of the game would have been vulnerable on that play. I'm not sure I follow your thought on the forecheck and how it applies in this instance.

I was disappointed the night he was a judge. He didn't really say that much (or what he said was so boring it was edited out). He didn't bring what I expected. Thought he'd be more effective.

If Heidi Klum claims him off waivers, I will refuse to sit in the same room while the show is on. This might cause friction with my wife/agent.

If Pronger were out there, that hit would have been rectified.

Yeah. Pronger was an angel throughout his career. Never laid a dirty hit. Not a once.

His would've been the second of the game. And just as clean as Kronwall's. Ok, maybe a little dirtier.

and those hits happened to his team mates when he did play, its part of the game. I don't agree with it, thought it warranted at least a fine, but gotta move on.

The first two clips the guy PK goes to hit are basically sideways making it almost impossible to hit their head. In the 3rd clip PK actually leaves his skates to hit the guy. The last clip was the closest example imo. Because PK slightly bends over before he goes to hit those guys the initial point of contact is lower on the body. Those are mostly textbook body checks imo. I'm not defending all of Kronwall's hits by any means. There have been several dirty ones. I've already said that. Last night's was not one of them imo. No amount of video clips is going to change my opinion of that.
- rockychocbill

I understand and respect that its your opinion, but how do you defend lunging and shifting your body weight to throw a high check, and then having that check make principle contact with a players face?

Seriously.. i just dont understand.

After that historic night and great hockey game all we want to talk about is that hit, still? There has to be over a dozen pages on this and so much more went on last night.

Edit: Hipsters are sissies anyway so what does that tell you about that redwing terd.

Uh...I said how much I like Grossman. Put me on the "sign him to an extension" bandwagon. Also I hope Max T. gets to 20 goals if only to rub it in over on a buddy's facebook page. This guy used to have a man crush on Talbot and regularly posted the Talbot "ssshhhhh" picture when the Pens would play Philly. Now he absolutely hates Max and calls him a money grubbing beyotch.

Nice to see them get a streak together. Now they can't overlook Florida Toronto with the home and home against Jersey coming up. Gotta keep racking up the points. If they can take both games against Jersey they really solidify their grip on the 4-5 seed.

And everybody in here would be celebrating such a "massive, clean and legal hit" ...people need to take off the orange and black glasses for once

I'm simply saying that if Prongs were out there, someone would have paid dearly for that hit. Not saying it would have been fair or clean. I'm just saying it would have been handled differently.

I've called for retribution as well, but with a two goal lead and two points on the line, I can see why they decide to take his number and put it with a "save the date" notice for the next time the teams play. If the score were more out of hand, one way or the other, they may have dished a little more back at the Red Wings. At least I'd like to think so. Lavi was probably thinking along those lines, as evidenced by his keeping Rinaldo on the bench, despite having a short bench.

Grossman is quickly becoming my favorite Flyer next to Bryz Actually my Favorite is Pronger but he's not playing. ANd despite the rough year Bryz is definitely up there. I think he's going to be a good goalie for us through the years.

GrossmanN is someone this team needed in a bad way. I think him and Kubina are a big reason Bryz is looking better. The Flyers aren't getting walked all over down low.

Oh and For the Pens fan that said that,

I actually got banned from B/R for a few days cause I went ape poop on a pens fan who was talking bad about Talbot and telling me we should have just kept asham! Don't get me wrong I loved Asham but him leaving was a business decision and I'll take Talbot over Asham anyday.

Why does a guy need to answer the bell when all he does is throw clean hits? It's pathetic that players are expected to drop the gloves just because they know how to properly lay somebody out. Kronwall has no obligation to fight and why take himself outta the game for 5 just because of it.
- keatondixon

If you throw borderline hits like he does, I'd just expect that he'd have dropped the gloves once or twice. And not all of his work fits into the clean category.

pretty good article on the Grabbo contract.

http://theleafsnation.com...-signs-comparisons-abound

if you scroll down, it shows the % of the total cap that each comparable player's deal is....and where Grabbo's ranks.
