Markov will not play a game this season and will most probably have a set back during the off season.
I called it from day 1 they sign him to a dumbass 3 year deal.

- Habssuperfan77

nah , he'll sit out the rest of the year and be fine next year.

calm down.

I was kinda hoping the Habs would keep LL up so they can try a 3rd line of
LL-Eller-Geoffrion

I just wanted to see what these kids could do for the last 20 games...

oh well.

- Habssuperfan77

he was sent down so he could be on the AHL playoff roster.

He'll be called back up soon.

No reason to dress Markov at this point even if he is ready at some point.

he will attempt to play this season. if he is unable to, he will retire after his contract is over (so he doesn't screw us over) and the habs will get another dman with that money.

We won't know this till he plays multiple games. I don't believe they can go into next season having no clue what potential he has.

yes there is. the satisfaction of knowing if he can play or not will help him and the team.
if he can't play they will replace him in the offseason.

Why wouldn't it come off the books if he retires?

its not an over 35 deal so im pretty sure he could retire whenever and you'd get his $ off the books

Except knowing if he can still play? How his knee will respond? Not only should he come back, he should play at the worlds.
