Gags worth is at its peak... But why dismantle the first line... Unless it is a dramatic overpayment I say keep the hobbit... As he proven me wrong this season...I just don't want Smyth on our 1st line next year... Nor do I want Smyth at more than 3.5 mill...and please only a 1 yr deal... He can have pp duty on the first line... Give eager Or PVR the ice time please... - saskoil21

Keep Gagner, draft Murray or Dumba... The end. - laughs2907
in the NHL pre draft standings from his play since his injury early in the season. I have a feeling this is who the Oilers may be targeting. |

The Oil need to concentrate on drafting nothing else but a d-man at the draft.
Selecting either Murray or Dumba will be a good day at the office.
Even if they win the lottery, this is the position they need to concentrate on.
As for trading for Semin...that would be a step in the wrong direction. And didn't he threaten to go to the KHL once before? No thanks, we already have our problems to deal with in Omark. |

Omark isn't a problem imo. If he threatens to go to the KHL, let him. Yawnz. |

No, he hasn't ever done that once. |

Completely agree, he'd be the safest pick if we were going for a d-man. We should also consider trading a package like Jones/Omark/picks for another pick in the top 15. Try to pick up either Griffin Reinhart or Andrei Vasilevski depending on who's available.
Edit: Just looked over Dumba's scouting report he sounds like a pretty legit pick, I'd be happy with him or Murray. He does need to beef up a bit though, at 170 pounds he won't be catching guys at open ice very often. |

I agree! We don't owe it to Omark to let him try to make it on another NHL roster. If he is serious about playing in the NHL he will earn his spot instead of holding it for ransom by the possibility that he defects back to Sweden. |

It wouldn't cost one of them.
Semin isn't being moved for picks/prospects though. Needs to be roster players, or at least assets to flip back out to replace his salary. Semin has been our best forward for the past 25-30 games. Not replacing him this year would all but guarantee we don't make the playoffs.
I've wanted Semin gone for a long time, but it may be better for the team to hang on to him and let him walk in the summer... |

He's a FA in the summer so it wouldn't be an important roster player... similar to the kovy trade IMO, i could see PRV, Omark and and conditional pick if Semin resigns. |
