Very true. And I hope he will rise to the challenge.
- stveshdy

Hope so. He made some big stops at 4-3 down to keep them in the game. His play is very uneven. He will make a big save, but then let in a soft goal. He needs to find some consistency. The second and third Jets goals weren't on him at all. The first goal debatable. Not a routine save but one you would like to see your tender make. The 4th Jets goal was just ridiculous.

Like I said before, still time for him to right the ship.

I was impressed by Kubina's passing most of all. Solid, quick, tape to tape passes ... not messing around with little flip passes like so many other Flyers do.

i thought he was good too. great to see that accurate bomb from the right point.

JvR was playing with fire all night. I feel happy for him. He played a very good game. The key now is to build off it, for everyone involved. Bad things happened-poor coverage, weak goal-but they won, beating a hot team that is very good in their own building.
- Jsaquella

that's what I'm focusing on right now. the flyers have as much firepower as CHI did 2 yrs ago, but other parts of their game are yet to come together.

I certainly would be in favor of getting another pk'er. in net, nothing's really changed and I'm not going to hold any NHL goalie to some artificially low std. but, good stop on Ladd in OT, so he needs to build on that.

Man these 4 Jets/Flyers games have been unreal. 7 game series would be fun to watch.

Well we really have no other option. Bobrovsky has been even worse over this last month. The Flyers need to play Bryz until the wheels fall off. He is the guy and the more we win the better it is for his confidence.

Thankfully the Rags-Pens game did not end up being a 3 point game. Flyers needed to win that just to keep pace in the Atlantic. Is NJ for real or should we expect them to come back to earth soon?

Perfect example how a goalie can turn things around. Crawford in Chicago was awful during a 9 game losing streak for the Hawks, now they have won 5 in a row including wins at MSG, and against the Wings, Crawford has played fantastic.

I love Simmonds, especially on the PP, any chance Lava bumps JVR up to play with Roo and Hartnell at least a couple of shifts?

great to finally see the right dman take the puck off the wall on the forehand instead of having to turn his body, use the backhand and give the other team time to pressure him.

It's got to be Bryzgalov. Let him play the lions share of the games. Spot Bobrovsky in back to back games, and against lesser teams.

NJ is a playoff team, so they have to be accounted for. The Atlantic is a very good division. Deep. Before the last few games, even the Isles seemed to be making a push.

it's too bad lappy and betts are both done. those are the kinds of players this team really needs right now.

Coots and Read both have. I wouldn't mind seeing Lavy give Couturier a game or two off.
- FlyerGuy

Essentially, all the rookies except Schenn (who already had a lengthy 'rest period' this season) have hit the wall to a degree.

Out of all of them though, Read seems like he is still making a difference out there even though his scoring has tailed off. He's still getting a few chances a game, and hustling his ass off. He even dropped the gloves tonight.

Couturier on the other hand seems a little like a deer in the headlights now, like he can't keep up with the game at times. Now that we're healthy, a view from the pressbox for a game or two might help him refocus.

They are winning every game with Larsson, and Tallinder two of their better d-men out of their lineup. Brodeur has picked up his game.

Their top line of Parise, Henrique, and Kovalchuk is one of the better lines in the NHL right now.

If they do make a move for a checking line center, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the odd man out for a few games.
