I don't understand why people listen to that station. The little I have heard of it is comically bad. It's sensationalistic radio. The hosts aren't very knowledgeable, and all they do is try and create drama.

That being said, any major market in any sport, key players performance are going to be highly scrutinized. Bryzgalov has mainly put all this negative reaction and coverage upon himself by his woefully inadequate play. If he was performing at a high level, know one would care what he says, does, or anything else. If the goalie, QB, top of the rotation pitcher doesn't perform he's going to get slaughtered by the masses. That's the way things go.

Dont disagree. I usual never listen but I tuned in this morning heading to the doctors office. Bryz hasnt been good and his comments are out there at times. If people want to bash him instead of supporting him thats their right. I just think its easier to kick a man when hes down but the minute he starts playing well people then want to jump ship. We all know he isnt this bad but were acting like he will never be good again based on 3/4 of a season.

I know! It was funny cause my buddy the Detroit fan said my eyes just lit up.. I went on a rant for like 5 mins about how I almost bought a read jersey the other day (true) cause I like his game, and his dad just calmly discussed the team with me.. haha..

He was accomodating and offered to help me without any hesitation.

Its always cool meeting a family member. I have student who rotate through sports medicine here at UPenn.. and one of them was Eric Tangradi's sister.. She was here for a week and had an insane amount of "behind the scenes" stuff you wouldnt normally hear about..

Glad you are not like that Bill...Cant stand philly main stream (WIP,Panotch,Carch)

I don't think you can lump Panaccio and Carchidi in with the WIP morning show. I'm amazed that Keith Jones still affiliates with this show.

I don't think the afternoon show is really guilty of the kind of bullpoop that the morning show is into.

That's fair. No one should be jumping ship based on 3/4 of a season like you say. Unfortunately people are shortsighted. Everyone who seriously wants the team to win is pulling for Bryzgalov to turn things around, the folks who have agendas, and who are out to create drama want him to keep falling on his face. Unfortunately those folks are getting what they want at the moment.

No, he never did. I actually saw on twitter last night, somebody saying that I hate him now, but if he ever turns it around I'll be slobbering all over {expletive}.

The worst.

I've been critical, and justifiably so, IMO. But I've always maintained that goalies can have bad years, and one season never makes or breaks a goalie.

He's much easier to root for now. I hope Bryz can feed off of this negative reverberation and really have something to play for now -- his pride.

Athletes have to be careful about what they say about fans. Sometimes they are too ignorant to realize that if the fans weren't filling stadiums, they wouldn't be making the millions up millions of dollars they make for playing a game.

I plan on calling in this afternoon. Im tired of the hack job this cities media (and i used that term loosely) does in all 4 sports, and worst of all in Hockey.

I saw the other day in an article (cant remember if it was Philly.com or not) that was talking about the Kubina move. It said in there that Tampa Bay also traded another D-man... Dominic Moore to SJ

how 'bout this headline (which, for once, is not carchidi's fault)?

I dont think Bryz is being made the scapegoat as he says. I think when you look at the games he has played hes been too inconsistent for anyones liking. There are times when his defense leaves him out to dry and times when he lets in a soft goal. Stuff like this happens over the course of a season. I think the team in general needs to be alitte more mentally tough. Pointing fingers at everyone else solves nothing if you dont point a finger at yourself first. We win as a team and we lose as a team. Support each other and play for each other and the rest will take care of itself.

Morning all,

I've got an interesting Flyers related story from my weekend at a work conference in Quebec City.

Was there with other military people from accross Canada.. ran into one of my buddies who is a Detroit fan and knows I'm a Flyers fan. Saturday morning, he says, "I am gonna make your day.. come meet this guy who works at my unit".. I was like WTF? I go over, and meet a fella wearing a nametag which says Read. He says, this is Matt Read's dad.. I was blown away..small world. We got to talking about Matt and how great this year has been..told him congrats. We starting chatting about the team's play osf late, how Matt was being used in games etc.. He could tell that I am a die hard fan. I say to him, I am going to see them on the March 17th game in Boston. He tells me, some of Matt's family are going to that game and that he can ask Matt to sign me in to meet he and some of the players if I want. I was like YOU'D DO THAT FOR ME? He laughed and said it's no issue. Matt likes doing stuff like that. I told him that if it wasn't a bother that it would mean a lot to me and my GF..(more to me LOL). We exchanged info and he said he'll give me the deets to make it happen.

Also, after the Saturday debalce and the Kubina trade, we spoke again and discussed the issues the team was having etc. He said he had been emailing back and forth with Matt all eveing and morning discussing where he is positioned on the PP.. Such a small world. His father seemed to be a genuinely nice man who is soo proud of his son. I think it is so kind of him to offer to help a HUGE fan of the team his son plays for. Any of you who saw me at buzzgate a few years back know that I am still on cloud 9..because I think I may get to meet a few of the players.. I am crazy psyched!!! Pray it all works out.,

PS: happy with the two moves on D Homer made.. but it takes a back seat to this!!!

Thats another issue. Fans are people who spend their hard working money on the team product. You never want to insult your fans that come out night in and night out. Im not saying players are wrong or right but you have to respect them. People are always going to cheer and boo, thats just sports. I think the fans need to respect the team as well (meaning its okay to boo a performance but when that game is over its time to go back to supporting that player for the next game). In a perfect world that would happen but in reality it doesnt.

Wow, didn't see that Toyota ad.

It might carry some weight if someone like you could call in to that show and point out how irresponsible it is to report something that may not be the truth and that a comment like that would be out of character for Bryz. At least Phil Sheridan mentioned that JvR is a good kid and just trying to suport his teammate.

Insulting fans can be suicide for an athlete. Countless guys have been run out of towns by fans.

Its at the top of the screen. Reads something like:
Is your car as reliable as Bryz in a shootout?

(___) Toyota has __ new cars blah blah.

No 5 hole.

blah blah

Your absolutely right. Ownership/Management will always try to get the pulse of the team from their fans. If the fans arent happy and stop coming its bad for business. You want to satisfy your customers (the fans) best as possible and I think the Flyers do that by trying to put the best product out on the ice every single year. They always take risks and try to make the team better to achieve the top goal (winning the cup).

Find me the positive article I can read regarding Bryzgalov that has been written recently, I would be more than happy to take a look, then I will proceed to make a paper airplane out of it.
