That's not too bad for a colored tat of that size... Looks good.

EDIT: or were you talking about how long it took to get the pic posted?

Figured we could start some healthy Bryz winning superstition.

What's the difference, you get ties now. Teams that win a shootout didn't win a hockey game, they won a stupid skills competition. The hockey game ended in a tie.
- Jsaquella

the difference is exactly one unearned point in the standings

his shootout save % is PUTRID

Also in the Islander he didn't look like he even had a chance to stop anything.

- GoFlyersGoSlovakia

Really, who cares?
I was at that Islander game and I'll tell you what, he's the reason they even got a point, because even though he faced only 17 shots, about 12 of them could have gotten past any run of the mill goalie. He has talent and to say other wise is misguided. Did he have a bad game? YES but this town of all should be familiar with goalies, atheletes, etc. that struggle and make, what's that word again? oh yea comebacks!

Yeah, but the game still ended in a tie. That bonus point isn't really winning a hockey game.

Can't wait, looking forward to seeing the first of a three game road trip for me following the Flyers! I'm hoping for a solid effort tonight, none of that earlier garabage we witness vs the Jets this year.

We do not need a third goalie! That should have been learned last year. However I think after the season if Khabby retires or leaves edmonton I'd really like the Flyers get him here. He would be a FANTASTIC mentor to both Bryz and Bob. Yes Bryz is 31 but you don't stop learning at that age either (yes I'm older and still learning). Sorry but I just think Jeff Reese has run his course, however I'm willing to see how this season plays out.

It changes the dynamics big time in the standings. I guess everyone has an equal chance to win a shootout but I dont like it myself.

I asked him on twitter about who asked the question(when Carchidi asked Holmgren if he had thought about sending Bob to the AHL and bringing in Leighton) and he mentioned that he thinks they need a third option.

I think that it's counter productive right now. If you get a third goalie, I think that it further hurts Bryzgalov's confidence, and pressures Laviolette to play the third guy some to see how he'll play and what Bryzgalov needs now are starts and a lot of them. He's not going to get his confidence back by not playing.

Yeah, I never really got behind booing my team. I can certainly hurl some frustrated curses at them, but I save my boos for the opposing teams.

Also, Joe...It's MY island.

I didn't like them before the NHL got them. I hate that Sweden won the Olympics in the shootout. To me, it's like deciding a basketball game by taking one guy from each team and playing H-O-R-S-E.

Guys like Zdeno Chara and Chris Pronger are vital to winning in this league. How often are they involved in a shootout?

I'm ready for a new goalie coach... Bob's puck handling is much better, but I see little improvement in any other part of his game... Its almost like Reese has taken Bob's ability to make the spectatular saves away, and the soft ones still goes in. Same with Bryz... Time for a new goalie coach... Someone call Robert Esche out of Russia...

Regardless of what a persons opinion is regarding shootouts, it's part of the League rules, and it isn't likely to change anytime soon. So instead of saying "who cares" that Bryzgalov has allowed 8 goals on 10 shots, why not focus on how the Flyers can improve. They have a plethora of skilled forwards who should score at a much higher % than they do. And once in a while it would be nice for a goaltender to make a save in the shootout. The extra points that are continually surrendered in shootouts being chalked up to "the gimmick sucks" is just silly.

I didn't see anyone complain about the shootout when it enabled the Flyers to make the playoffs and go on a heck of a run.

I guess the NHL was trying to make the game more marketable for the fans when coming back from the lockout. It was something new and different but over time its lost its appeal imo. I understand they cant have teams playing all night during the regular season bc of travel. Just play 4 on 4 hockey for 10mins (OT) and get rid of the shootout. If the game ends in a tie so be it.

But for reals, the shootout point bugs me, too. I'd prefer we were winning them, but as long as we're making the playoffs I'm not stressing it much. I'm more bothered by the games being worth three points for going on longer. If shootouts have to be here, I'd prefer the winning team takes both points and that inexplicable loser point were abolished.

Of course, going back to ties instead of shootouts would be prefered in my opinion.

I don't want esche out of Russia but I want someone who will come here and make an impact. Bryz and Bob do have raw talent. I see Bryz as having maybe a mental issue. A guy like Khabby would really connect with him and I think Bryz could take him seriously. Had a discussion with a good acquiantance on twitter about Bryz's focus.
Guy told me Bryz's contract should be all he needs to focus. But mental aspects in sports are coached. Fred Shero was a great coach b/c he knew how to push his teams buttons. By pushing buttons I don't mean getting them to act like animals either. The Flyers were brawlers in those days but they still had to play hockey. I really think Bryz needs a coach to get him playing more than just good fundamentals, he needs a mentor to get him playing on such a big stage. I don't know that Reese is doing that with him. And nothing against Reese but the Flyers might have to look at bringing in a guy I'm speaking of to salvage this thing in the offseason, hope it doesn't get to that point either.

I complained, but admitted that I was happy they got in.

Since the Isles game, they have supposedly spent more time working on it in practice. To me, that's a no brainer, even though I detest the shootout. You set aside a half hour at the end of practice and do shootout drills. Not exactly the same as bag skating or conditioning drills

Yep. That's all you can do is practice it. Maybe some more advanced work and video on shooters/goalie tendencies etc.

I hate the shootout personally, as do most hard core hockey fans, I don't have to tell you why it was put into the rules, you know full well. It unfortunately is here to stay by the looks of it, the Flyers improving at shootouts will make us despise it slightly less.
