I dont even know what to say to spatso anymore...I understand criticizing the leafs, I will be the first to call out Kessel and the trade, Iam even for trading him at this point.... but thats a stupid comment, his hatrid is starting to show in every comment on the leafs.
If you have watched the games this season, Kessel has been very good.

- senstroll

The point that I was making was the exact opposite. Kessel is pressing too hard. Ovechkin is doing the same. Ovechkin even more so. They are both highly talented players.

If it's not documented in the stats package, then it never happened.

I was always curious though, why you were completely unfazed by the HUGE discrepancy between the stats sheet and what happened.

I mean, if they can see 8 takeaways and not record a single one, it stands the reason they'll accidentally do the same with 2nd assists, Time on Ice, hits, turnovers, shots while they're on the ice, etc. These are some of the very metrics by which the general populace (yourself included) come to value players.

Don't you feel like you've torn through the matrix a little? Or, on a serious note, why aren't you more disappointed in the TERRIBLE quality of the stat-keeping?

Statistics are for baseball fans. Dopps was upset because Prock implicitly accused him of lying. That is about character, it is unforgivable and Prock was unable to see the error of his ways and offer amends in the form of an apology. So, Dopps uses ridicule to soothe his wounded ego. Prock stays at the edges, says little, but clearly is uncomfortable with returning to the forum.

He does not realize that all would be forgiven if he offered up a simple and humble affirmation of Dopp's interpretation of the matter.

Im not into defending prock, but he should succumb to Dopples assertion based on a few games???

I am a massive Karlsson fan but he does have holes in his defensive coverage/strategy. I don't think is anywhere near as bad a prock think he is, but for you and spatso to sing his praises for every poke check is ridiculous.

I'm pretty removed from Sens-Leafs. The guy isn't a great defensive player. He's slick as can be offensively, and succeeds by playing an up-tempo, outscore the opponent game. I like that. There's nothing wrong with it. My team (tries to) do it. But he's not great defensively.

Yeah, I'm not removed from the Sens-Leafs, and even I can tell you that this is level of praise is inaccurate. He's not Bobby Orr or Nick Lidstrom, no matter how much we may want him to be.

The only thing that i can think they are trying to argue is
1. he isn't as bad a prock is saying
2. he doesn't have a traditional way of defending

His stats indicate he is competent in his own zone. His style of play either results in a defensive gaff or a shrewd defensive play that usually results in a zone exit.

I fear he is in a depressed state. He has been reduced to functional one sentence responses suggesting he has lost his hockey passion. I fear he may have turned into a closet Karlsson fan and is struggling with coming out to the rest of us about his true feelings.

Watching highlights on the NHL Network last night and saw an interesting feature on Karlsson by Craig Button. He started out by showing some of his offensive highlights, he explained how he (Button) had been a doubter of his defensive skills at first. Button then showed some highlights on the way he played to puck in his own end. He concluded by saying that when you look at the entire game that the kid plays you can only think about it in "Bobby Orresk" terms. He does stuff nobody else can do and when the game is on the line he is the most dangerous player on the ice who makes everyone of his teammates a lot better.

If Spezza has a long term injury and if, the Senators keep winning, the kid will not only stand out as a likely repeat winner of the Norris, he also becomes a candidate for MVP.

It all stemmed from a game vs the Capitals in December 2011, where I watched the entire game on a pvr, so was able at anytime to review any play in slo-mo, watched the between periods highlights and listen to the accolades being given to Karlsson on that particular might.

Karlsson had Ovechkin's number that night, and poke checked the puck off his stick a couple of times, caught the puck in his skates a couple of time with Ovechkin tried to deke around him, and every time Karlsson immediately turned the play the other way and created an offensive chance for the Senators.

If anyone else had watched that game, they would have seen the exact same things as I did.

However some posters, who openly admitted they had not watched the game, claimed these turnovers/takeaways did not happen, and their "proof" was that they could not find anything in the Stats package to indicate they did.

Well, I know what I saw, and it was collaborated by another poster who also had watched the game.

But this was not good enough for some people, who time and time again, asserted that the "stats don't lie".

Well I could care less what they want to believe, I know the truth.

Prock can do whatever he wants, I could care less.

I never would expect him to admit to doing or saying anything wrong or misleading. He can make all the outrageous predictions he wants, and can eat crow when he's proven inaccurate, or gloat when he's right, which I don't think happens to much.

His mission here is to be pro-leafs / anti-Senators no matter what facts anyone might post to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he is mistaken.

Remember the thread he started called "Crappy Senator Prospects in Binghamton" or something like that? Then shortly after that those "Crappy" prospects went on to win the Calder Cup.

It is true that Prock does have a blind spot when it comes to the Senators. But, on other hockey issues he often has very astute observations.

Sometimes I suspect that "prock" is two people, who both use the same PC and post under that username.

Sometimes he is polite and insightful and provides good info when asked, and at other time he's out right rude and insulting for no reason other than to be belligerent.

Again, could care less, it's an internet forum and there's all kinds of people here, and if they act in a negative fashion, then they only hurt themselves, and diminish their opinions when they have occasion to be cordial.

Funny you should say that. There are times that I believe that Prock is not really a Leaf fan. Sometimes he says things that are so over the top, yet so easy to negate, you have to wonder if his true purpose is to make the Leafs and Leaf fans look silly.
