To all people with a brain in their head, that's correct.

We see one person that disagrees.

So I guess the leafs last won a cup almost 46 years ago eh?

Happy trolling.

Almost 50. And the Sens? Almost..... Well, not almost, actually, never.

Not going to go down that path. Everyone knows that a team from Ottawa has won the Stanley Cup numerous times. The banners are there to prove it, and the wins are listed in the record books.

On another point, would you include a franchise's wins (of the Cup) prior to name change, while still remaining in the same city, in it's total count of Cup wins?

Well in the context of a hockey season, his statement is off by one year, he made a mistake and will fight to the death to prove he's right. But I believe he should just
put on his big boy pants, and admit he forgot about the Canadiens winning the Cup Almost 19 years ago this June.

It's like if I said the leafs haven't won a cup in almost 46 years, and expected not to be corrected on it by a leaf fan pointing out that they actually won it almost 45 years ago.

Being off by one year, is still being off by one year in both instances.

Really?

ALMOST - is the key word here.

If he said 20 years ago, I would have agreed with you. He said Almost 20 years.

The leafs havent won since 67.

If you were to say it has been almost 46 years, I would say, you are correct.

Which means I have acknowledged you are right in saying so. Why are you having so much difficulty in saying Prock is right as well?

If the same franchise wins a cup, changes it's name, and wins another, then yes, I would include both.

If your next birthday (when you become 22 years old) is in May 2012, is it more accurate to say it's almost one month away, or almost two months away?

If someone is 28 years old, turning 29 next month, do you think a person that describes that person as almost 30 is incorrect?

Is 4,999,998.5 almost 4,999,999, or is it okay to say "almost 5 million"?

We can beat this point into the ground all you want, but I'm really interested in your opinion on another point, would you include a franchise's wins (of the Cup) prior to name change, while still remaining in the same city, in it's total count of Cup wins?

If it's the same franchise, sure, why not. It's the same team, with a different name. That's a world of difference from a different team with the same name.

I'm sure you would know this, ( I don't) but do the leafs include the 1917 18 Stanley Cup win by the Arena's and the 1921-22 St. Pats Cup win, in their total Stanley Cup Championships?

Obviously. It's the same team, different name. Do you think a name change means a team didn't win a championship? If so, then you're an idiot.

The Chicago Blackhawks won their first cup in 2009-10, not to be confused with the Chicago Black Hawks, who won three cups in the history of the franchise, between 1926-1986, at which point they ceased to exist.

Now you are just being annoying.

Its fine to say both, and while it may not be as exact as saying it is a month and a half away, BOTH ARE CORRECT.

As a matter of fact, your argument isn't as valid as someone who wishes to argue that almost is relative, and as such shouldn't be used. Needless to say you are simply doing this because the two of you are annoyed with each other.

I don't know, there is no way you can blame that level of stupidity on me. I mean, I may encourage him to show it off, but it has to be there to begin with. That kind of stupidity can only occur naturally.

Perhaps I'm the only one who sees a statement such as "it's been almost 19 years since the Canadiens won their last Cup" as being more factually correct over the statement "it's been almost 20 years since any Canadian team has won a Cup".
