Pierre McGuire was saying this morning that Ottawa got a great player in Turris, and did not have to give up to much to get him.

Pierre talks about the Sens win over the Rangers, Ben Bishop, the weakness in the Rangers. Pierre also touches on the play of Kyle Turris and Jared Cowan, the Sabres and the Devils.

I have been convinced since Christmas that the Rangers will struggle against any team in the first round. As the game wore on last night I started thinking that the Rangers would not ever score another goal if they were to play nine more periods against the Senators. I thought the fight Prust started with Smith showed how frustrated and feeble the Rangers have become.

If the Rangers continue to stumble they will not drop to second. They will fall to fourth or fifth as the Penguins will overtake them.

LOL.

He's going on 23. He won't be getting much bigger, if at all.

Well he could go on the Kyle Wellwood diet... that would get him 20

People just dont put in 20 pounds in 1 year unless its Fat... and if they bulk up that much in 1 year its from some sort of drug enhancement. To Bulk up properly 20+ pounds takes a long time.

But it sounds good to throw out statements like that.. Might as well say wait until be get a propeller installed in his ass...he will be flying out there

Maybe he would actually score, instead of being the useless tit that he is. He pulled one hell of a disappearing act the last 20 or so games. he went right back to his old crappy ways like his days with the Yotes. What a brutal trade. the guy isn't worth a second round pick alone, let alone a second round pick, and the organization's best prospect.

I think the Leafs could have been a dangerous team in the playoffs. They have been streaky and very good at times going all the way back to the second half of last season. Had they made the playoffs it would have been because they were getting good goaltending. With good goaltending the Leafs are capable of skating with and gunning with most teams. Without goaltending their confidence became very fragile.

why do I care about your stupid 20 pound statement? because its funny, people should be called out when they make ridiculous claims like that. Honestly where is he going to get 20 pounds? and how long will it be before hes 20 pounds heavier?

I have never said he was a bust, ever. You can not find a quote from me saying that. I dont think hes a bust. Maybe drafted too high, perhaps a weaker draft year. I have also said they paid a lot to get him, and will regret it down the road.

Again you are making stuff up

No doubt the Senators would have an easier time Beating the Rangers in the First round, than they would vs the Bruins. But it pretty much looks like the Bruins will be the Senators first round opponent.

Yes the Senators dominated the Bruins that last time the meet in Boston, and it was probably the best all around game I've seen the Senators play. But it was one game, in the regular season, and not a seven game playoff series.

Plus I expect some of the Bruins who are currently out of the line up will be back for the playoffs.

But for team that was susposed to finish dead-last in the Eastern Conference miles and mile behind the leafs in all areas, they've shown that they're better than most people thought.

Also the near future is looking good as the Hockey News annual Future Watch List has indicated.

They point out that Ottawa has 5 of the top 75 best prospects (under21) second only to the Wild who have 6. BUT, Ottawa's overall rating is better than the Wild, A-vs B+.

With Lehner, Zibanejad, Noesen, Silfverberg and Stone, all under 21, the Senators are well set up as their "re-build" continues.

Right now the leafs have two back ups, and they need one of them, or someone else to develop into a true "starter". I notice that the Monster is playing a lot more (recently) so am wondering what's the matter with Optimus Riem?

Really you are a joke ,you jumped all over me on a nothing comment .You are right about the 20 pounds , but a good strength and conditioing program could do wonders for this kid .

And your not calling KT a bust at all but you seem to think, you know more than a 30+ hockey man and a entire nhl scouting staff when you make absurd comments on what we paid for a player like KT .So i call BS on you pal

Nah...it was an illusion... 3 wins in 15 games..those 3 wins were against Edm, Edm and montreal. 2 of the 3 worst teams in the league.

I didnt think it was possible to suck that bad...yet another level of sucking achieved

You heard PM saythey paid so little to acquire him (this morning)..........so I'll take his word, over yours any day.

He's a minus 12 in the NHL (Ottawa & Phoenix) and a minus 10 in Portland in the AHL............see a pattern here.

Why would I be bitter? Second line centre? If your second line centre is scoring 30 points a year, you're in trouble.

Your teams top prospect, and a second round pick, is a LOT to pay for a guy almost 23 years old, who can barely crack the lineup, given second line ice, can't crack 30 points.
