Dont expect any trade of substance to occur until we have a new building. If anything, you will see something extremely minor but I doubt you/any of us will be content with it.
- NewYawkIslandez

Snow will not make a trade because he is not willing to put his neck out again. He is just going to keep stockpiling picks and prospects until its so deep that he has to start trading some for NHLers.

Holy crap...it wasnt a joke, Weight is really going to serve as head coach because dipsh!t Cappy is out with the flu. haha, not sure why I find this funny that our coach is out with the flu. Anythign is better than Cappy though. I would bet anything that Weight is our next head coach after Cappy gets canned. It wouldnt make Islander sense to bring in someone with experience now would it!

The answer to Nabby should be: "We are cutting RDP at the end of the year regardless of whether you re-sign or not, so he will be a non-factor for all of us come next season."

If you scroll down to injury update.........notice how Katic, and Motteau have no timetable, IR, yet Ricky Dipietro says out 10 weeks. Could we see a RDP return this season?? Im absolutely not convinced that this organziation is going to part ways with him..........this guy keeps coming back. I see a 5th season where he cannot play and gets 4.5 million to be a cheerleader.

When Katic was injured I believe they expected him to miss the season. That's why there is no timetable on their website. They probably just never updated it. DiPietro has always been expected to be back before the end of the season. I don't think he'll be back, especially if they are still in contention. If they are out of it, who knows, they'll probably give him a couple starts.

Quincey...6'4" defenseman...but the Islanders don't need anyone especially on defense that has size...

Garth Snow still sleeping on his desk as more trades are made. Have no idea how Snow cannot make a move after losing 6-0.

Ya never know what a players' ultimate motivation is but it's kinda stupid for P.A to just take whatever Garth offers. I mean, if you get to the negotiating/haggling stage, the GM says player is worth "x" but no more because of x,y,& z or he compares to so & so who makes "x" salary. the GM will always cite the deficiencies of a player in order to get the price down.

But if PA waits for other offers, then the GM HAS to match or risk losing.

That being said, I think PA will be back next year. No guarantee he'll see 1st/2nd line ice time with another team, even if they outbid Garth.

I met briefly recently at champions after a game and he hung out with my friends and I for a bit and had a beer with us. He genuinely wants to be part of turning this franchis around, you can tell. At the same time he is 28 now I think and wants to make sure he gets a good contract and I don't blame him. If the isles offer I'm anything near his value he will stay here. He told the Montreal media the same thing when they played them a couple weeks ago.

Making a move after a 6-0 loss screams desperate. Other than Nabakov, there aren't many players teams will be asking for on the isles.

If any team needs a desperate move it's the Isles. How much longer do we have a wait for Snow to make a move? Is he afraid he is breaking up a cup team?

Let's all be honest. Even if he does make a trade, there will still be b!tching and moaning about who we traded and who we got back... Or didn't get instead

I agree with you but Snow is a lousy GM...I met him two years ago in tampa when I was on business...nice guy but stubborn...doesn't want to give up young guys for established players....
- kear20

When has he ever said this???

Just because he hasn't lately doesn't mean he wont!
