i dont see any big name or impact players signing in buffalo or being traded there

Would a quick for parise deal plausible? To much or too little? obviously this is just for conversation sake, and for anybody possibly reading this (Ek) this wont happen. Just an idea.

was thinking them or NYI. too bad he isn't RFA, could package him up for Parise
- ilikeboyes

parise isnt leaving, i would be extremely surprised if he does leave

i know it means nothing, but i thought it was pretty cool today how brodeur said that even if he was to come back next year that he knows the devils will be more focused on getting parise signed and thats what they should do

Brodeur’s contract is up after this season and he said there has been no discussion yet of signing him for next season—but that’s not a surprise.

“Let’s put it this way,” he said. “They haven’t signed Zach (Parise) yet, so I’m on the back burner a little bit. I think that’s No. 1 for this organization to try to lock this guy up somehow and, hopefully, they will.”

combined with elias's and kovy's comments

bishop or harding would do well here next year, especially if brodeur comes back for a year and mentors them

Eklund: Leafs Starting to look elsewhere? Flyers going for goalie help, Oduya.
- Eklund

Seriously? "falling asleep" is the reason there is nothing to show for a blog?

The idea that Burke is loosing patience in waiting on a Nash deal is laughable: T.O. has insufficient chips to play in the bidding war. The ONE component that matters in the Nash deal is a proven goaltender who is young and not a pending UFA. Thus rule out pretty much all teams except for the Kings and whoever else you want to pretend has THAT goalie ... sure perhaps the Flyers outstanding prospect (again not proven ... just prospect).

Oduya has been benched several times this season because he is a bust... he is NOT a blue chip defenceman ... just a 6 - 7 depth guy.

Carry on reporting what is already broke by TSN and others or the nonsensical rumors that everyone is lapping up before the 27th.

Atleast Kane could clean up the streets, all they do is blame Miller it's a joke. The whole team is crap.

Anyone getting all excited for the deadline because of Nash will be disappointed. There's pretty well no reason I see for Columbus not to wait until the offseason.

yeah i would say it would, helps both teams out, but i just dont see that happening at all, even if both were signed to good contracts, i wouldnt have a issue with the trade, even though it harms the devils scoring capabilities, but kovy has really turned his game around so it wouldnt be a killer

not enough chips (Kadri,Gardiner,Schenn,Aulie,Colborne) the fact is Burke is not going to overpay for an overated 70 pts Punk who don't like pressure or else he would have sign with us when he was a UFA

Take who ever you want from the Sabres, it's obvious that our GM and Coach don't care. 64 mill payroll and our crappy coach benches Vanek and gives Stafford and Roy a free pass. Welcome to Buffalo where after 15 years of NOTHING, you can still keep your job.

You know, I hear people say over and over that Columbus can get way more at the draft.. but with every shutout loss the Kings suffer the opportunity to totally fleece the greatest GM EVERY DEAN LOMBARDI! becomes greater and greater. In fact, if they lose at Phoenix on Tuesday the bounty they could collect from LA and its dreadful offense could reach epic proportions. Now, as for whether or not CBJ and their equally terrific GM is smart enough to do it.. thats another matter.

it gives us all something to talk about, dont take the fun away

im pretty sure 98% of us know nothing is actually going to happen, but without this rumor this place would be deader then ek at his prom, it provides entertainment and the deadline is going to be boring as reading ek's book when it comes out

Eklund, seriously stop with the Getzlaf stuff. He isnt going anywhere. He wasn't even available when Anaheim was struggling hard, so he's definitely not available now that they're playing great hockey.

KINGS NEED NASH NOW!!! they cant score a freakin goal i feel bad for Quick
- theKING11

The first line makeup is not the problem and that team should have no problem scoring based on their talent. Their issue is that the they depleted their 3rd line to get Richards. Kopitar should be a 100 point player with his talent. Richards should be a 70-75 point guy. Doughty has been terrible and was a distraction. He should be one of the 10 best players in the game if his heart is in it.

Nash is not the solution for the Kings. They need 1 more top 6 and 2 more 3rd liners. They don't need a premier scorer like Nash. They already sold the farm for Richards and look how that went down. If anything deal Richards to Columbus to reunite him with Carter there if Nash comes to L.A.
