ok now wait a second, when the Isles got Smyth it was for absolute peanuts. The players the Isles gave up were all busts and are floating around in the minors with different teams. Second, when the Isles made the deal they were 5th in the East and on fire. I loved that deal, it was a great move. DiPietro got knocked out like the second game we had Smyth and that screwed us huge.

it wasn't 3 first rounders, it was Robert Nilsson (garbage, now playing in KHL), Ryan O'Marra (the Oilers just traded him a few days ago) and a midround 1st (Alex Plante).

it's not as bad for you guys. like I said above, you have team defense, you have scoring, you have a good coach with good systems. your coach is able to make adjustments on the fly. your coach utilizes timeouts when the team is playing like poop (for example, leafs down 2-0 tonight, ron wilson looks up at the sky like he's trying to squeak out a silent fart).

the majority of this teams problems stem from Ron Wilson.
