Garrioch is a major windbag so it the picks offered might be made up by him but the interest in Kubina and maybe even an offer is likely legit. Seems like a move Holland would make to me.

The goal was sweet, the pass from Z was beautiful, but what's getting glossed over here, in my opinion was the play by Lidstrom. He waited for something to develop in stead of just passing it to someone in hopes of making one last break. What patience and vision from Nick. Beauty of a play all around.

Reminds of this goal by Pav about 7 years ago when Markov destroys Stoll and Datsyuk undresses the D and goalie.

Still think that was one of the best plays of all times in hockey. Everything people love about hockey wrapped up in about 4 seconds. Two Russians, so it's not talked about much maybe?

Agree great play by Lids to set up the play.

Was also a great play with Markov and Datsyuk...sucked that the Wings lost that series though.

That's what Holland gave up for Stuart. I don't see a defenseman with a right handed shot and size available that would be better. Hope he gets a power forward now and not just some plug grinder or depth defenseman that won't be good enough to crack the lineup just because they were cheap to trade for.
