I would still plan for the future at the trade deadline rather than try to win now. If a player isnt going to be on this team in three years, then I am open to trading him now.
Roy, Leopold, Boyes, and many others IMO are expendable.
As for how to juggle the lines:
Leino - Roy - Pommer
Vanek - Ennis - Gerbe
why not give Gerbe a shot with Vanek, Lets see how good Gerbe can be paired with an elite player.
But I can tell you all and I would bet my life on it that Vanek and Pommer will be linemates again.,

Gotta admit . the pulse dvd is the closest the new generation will ever get to see the band for what tey are besides just radio play. Ive seen gilmour twice, waters 3 times, still doesn't compare to this concert of pink floyd . even minus waters . Gilmour done the band good imo. - cabin
Seems kinda quiet around these parts tonight. I'm kind of surprised after the game last night was so good.

Free agent CB Stanford Routt will visit with the Bills on Sunday.
Routt's agent has spoken with the Titans, but the sides haven't scheduled a visit yet. Because he was cut Thursday, Routt can sign as soon he comes to agreement with a team.

CBS Sports' Pete Prisco expects free agent DE/OLB Mario Williams to become the highest paid defensive player in the NFL if he hits the open market.
Williams has the No. 1 overall pick pedigree, the measurables, the age (just turned 27), the versatility, and the production to incite a feeding frenzy once the cap-strapped Texans pass on the franchise tag at $22.9 million. SI.com's Don Banks suggests the Bills, Jags, and Bucs as the top three suitors, with the Packers as a wild card. We've also seen the Chargers and Raiders connected to Williams.

I've seen Wilson do this before. Bryce Paup for instance.
Williams instantly makes your defense a LOT better and sells tickets. I see them bidding on him.

It's a good move if Dave Wannstedt transitions the defense to a full time 4-3, which I have heard he plans on doing. I don't like Williams in a 3-4. - SabreHess
It would be a fantastic move and would make a lot of sense. It would also put Buffalo back on the NFL radar.
Also agree on the 4-3. I heard on the radio last week that he was committed to the 4-3. Imagine Darius and Kyle Williams inside and Mario on the edge ?

Bad things man. - Pairo11
Yeah that's the thing, Darius and Williams have a ton of potential as D tackles in a 4-3 system, but as talented as they both are I don't see either one of them ever being great as a nose tackle in a 3-4 system. You have to play to your strengths, and I think the Bills would be wise to switch to a full time 4-3 base defense and acquire a big time pass rusher be it Mario Williams, or a trade for Osi Umenyiora...or both!
BTW with 5 of the 6 teams directly ahead of the Sabres acquiring points last night it just goes to show how impossible this playoff run is going to be. Theres just too many teams to leap over, and with the bonus point for OT losses the Sabres only shot is to have a 9 or 10 game winning streak at some point. Which could happen, but until it does the playoffs are a mile away.
