Yup, the Leafs have to have Lupul in the back of their minds when dealing with Grabovski. Grabbo's agent has said a couple of times that Mikhail wants to stay in Toronto and JM Liles already took a discount to re-up long term here, but I think Grabovski would be foolish not to at least explore what free agency has to offer.
Outside of Parise, he's arguably the best forward available and only one team is going to sign Zach. Being the next best thing for some time means that Grabovski can expect a lot of money this offseason and money that the Leafs likely can't afford to offer him. - Urethra Franklin
See I side with you on this as well. From an outsider looking in, I'm finding Grabo year after year is getting better and better, and faster as well. I think he's an impact forward and I'm not sure the Leafs want to lose him, at least I dont think they should. Wheels like his, and hands like his, make him a quick strike guy, especially when he is on your second line. I'd personally be comfortable with signing him for 5 a season, but I'd be worried I just lost my kicker when it comes down to negotiations with Lupul, who, like Grabovski, could expect a hefty raise if he let himself end up on the UFA market.

Pretty sure kadri would be better of playing with duchene than those players lmfao Gotta acquire those canadian juniors hahaha
Though your prob right. 1st rounder, Kadri, Gunner, and armdog would likely be the deal going to colorado from the leafs and im sure they would trade with us over you guys cause having kadri duchene landeskog as a 1st line is pretty dirty not going to lie. - Mapleleafs_91
Yea... Really.. I was just making fun of that pathetic trade offer...
So i named a rookie of the Sabres who has shown potential and has more goals, assists, and points than Kadri
I named an injury prone winger who has topped out on points in the past already..
and I named a defensemen that no body wants and has topped out in low 20s in points too..
As of right now.. Adam > Kadri in EVERY category besides +/-
I think you completely miss the importance of each of those.
Gunnar is a top pairing defensively responsible D on the leafs. He is not a points getter.
Same thing with Armstrong, he is an agitator. He draws a ton of penalties, and helps the team tremendously.
If we weren't loaded up with winders all making 3M+ on the top 2 lines, Kadri would easily be in the line-up.
Unfortunately, Burke can't justify sitting guys like Mac, Kuli, Lupul, Kessel, Grabo, etc.. when KAdri has a 2-way contract and can get top line minutes in the AHL.
Now, onto your offer. Let's use your logic shall we?
Luke Adam - has only had 24 points so far in his career.
Jochen Hecht - Concussion? (i assume this is because of cap)
Sekera - only 29 points??
(I actually don't feel this way at all, just showing how bad ur logic is)
And why the hell would you offer up a potential lottery pick in your 1st rounder???
Jeeze... I mean.. come on - mfreedman
AHHAHAHA you owned him And thats true you potentially dont have to offer up a 1st Rounder though im sure my deal or an adjusted deal to that would be better then the sabres offer. Kadri Duchene Landeskog would be a crazy line to watch. Gunner is a good defensive defender, armdog would be the salary dump but is a good agitator and if another prospect/draft pick is included in the deal would finish it off.

brodeur said he is leaning on returning for next season and the way he has played lately he has shown he is still capable especially with the D in front of him and now missing larsson and talinder
the supposed plan is to go for harding gustavsson or a UFA - dmarsden2988
as much as i dislike NJ, mainly because i dislike Brodeur, I wouldn't want them to put all their stock in Gusty like we did with Toskola and Raycroft. Gusty has his up and down moments. He was fortunate that the leafs have been able to outscore opponents for the first part when he was playing till he went on a run where he played amazing. I think he can be a solid back up, not a #1

You are so blind by your own blue and white homer glasses it is laughable...
In your logic.. I could honestly offer.. Adam, Kaleta, Weber, and a 2nd rounder and get Stastny...

i think the biggest difference with grabo has been his kids. made him settle down and really look at what he wanted to do with his life. two summers ago he actually trained with datsyuk and you could see him become more of a threat when he started to take hockey more seriously. i dont know what he did this summer but maybe waiting for the birth of his 2nd child had him focused on other things over hockey, but since his kid was born, he's def played a lot better hockey

but kaleta sucks, gunner>weber, we can offer a 2nd rounder, kadri would merk with duchene. nuff said - Mapleleafs_91
that would be a sick line, duchene has a slick 2 way center, landeskog as the power forward and kadri as the play maker. basically potentialfor a perfect line

im pretty sure kadri is the better overall player than adam
and im sure colorado would pick kadri over adam - Mapleleafs_91
Kadri in 49 NHL games has 7 G 11 A 18 Pts and a FO% below 30%
Adam in 70 NHL games has 13 G 11 A 24 pts and a FO% around 45%
Kadri in the 44 AHL games 17 G 24 A 41 Pts and -2
Adam in the 57 AHL games 29 G 33 A 62 Pts and +18
And by the way.. Adam also won AHL Rookie of the Year last year...
There you go again talking about pure potential in a player which you then hypocritically make fun of Sabres about for giving Myers such a huge contract on Potential
