Wow I hate, I mean REALLY hate how every other team in the league over values their players and prospects and craps on the Leafs. JVR had one good playoff run. Has been average in both regular season's he has played and he is valued more than Getzlaf or Parise. LOL

Stay at home defensemen that lead the league in hits at 22 years old are a hot commodity. Schenn will only get better, defenseman get better with age as the position is all about position and timing. This guy will be a top tier defenseman in this league, like Lefebvre or Foot. You win cups with this kinda guy.

Glad we're not giving up on him and shipping him to Philly for an unproven kid with some upside who lacks interest.

I doubt it would happen before there is more clarity on the concussion, but I would easily trade JVR for Schenn + 2nd. Schenn is a young stay at home d-man who is physical. Thats exactly what the Flyers need to shore up their D and become tougher to play against in the home stretch.

I think both players are great assets. I think JVR has the potential to be a 40 goal scorer who can take over a game and Schenn has the potential to be a good top pairing shutdown guy.

I think both players mean too much to their respective teams to swap straight up. Both seem to have a ton of upside, have shown flashes of brilliance, and aren't quite there yet.

I don't think Philly's defensive situation is bad enough that they are going to give up JVR just for Schenn. Conversely I don't think the Leafs offensive situation is bad enough that they give up Schenn just for JVR.

Both of these guys are going to be NHL forces one day. I just don't see Holmgren and Burke agreeing on a trade because of each player's meaning to their team.

personally I think a good deal would be getting someone to take Komy and adding in Kadri and getting a Ryan Malone or Umberger and maybe a prospect.. bad salary for bad salary
