The news of this rumour originally came from TSN, I believe. I think it was Burke using the media to drum up some urgency on another deal he was working on. Most likely with Anaheim or maybe Columbus. Holmgren being Burke's friend just had to keep quiet. Poker! Fixed poker, but still poker. The deal did not work out, whether JVR's concussion prevented that is unknown, but I believe the true deal was with another team. |

Wow I hate, I mean REALLY hate how every other team in the league over values their players and prospects and craps on the Leafs. JVR had one good playoff run. Has been average in both regular season's he has played and he is valued more than Getzlaf or Parise. LOL
Stay at home defensemen that lead the league in hits at 22 years old are a hot commodity. Schenn will only get better, defenseman get better with age as the position is all about position and timing. This guy will be a top tier defenseman in this league, like Lefebvre or Foot. You win cups with this kinda guy.
Glad we're not giving up on him and shipping him to Philly for an unproven kid with some upside who lacks interest. |
