It was bad, no one is arguing that. But for the past 1/4 of the season so far our PK has been perfect. My original point was that statistically that is a large enough sample size for us to dub it a trend and not an anomaly.

The leafs don't have to worry about improving their PK ranking from 29th to anywhere. They could go perfect on the PK the rest of the season and still not crack the top 15, but it wouldn't matter because even with the poopty PK we were in the hunt for a playoff spot. The recent improvement of our PK only helps our chances of nabbing a spot even more.

Granted I couldn't give a poop if we made the playoffs. It would be nice, but we wouldn't go anywhere in the playoffs anyways, so what's the point?

Well thats good for Toronto then.. I never doubted that they did indeed go 100%.

In January they went 7-38 on the powerplay... Which is 18% which is trending down from their season average of 19.4.

I'm sure you beat your wife when you get home because YOU CAN'T STAND HAVING TWO TEAMS IN FLORIDA!! Hockey is your game right? After all, you invented it. I can't stand how most fans who root for Toronto are quite possibly the rudest group of people on this earth. But hey, nothing I can do about it. Nor would I. Considering that you're most likely in your 20's any way, the Panthers have been around almost as long as you've been alive... so what's the problem? Mad at mommy? Daddy molest ya? Oh no.. I know what it is... you haven't mattered in the NHL since Lincoln was the President of the USA. Ah, I get it now. See I can live with my team not making it anywhere.. but you can't. General when someone states "don't give away the future"... it means trading away youth for an old guy. Schenn and JVR are the same age, and Schenn has an additional season with about 100 more games played in the NHL.

I wouldn't exactly call JVR a long shot. He is a good player with 15-21 goals / 35-40pts average over the past 2 seasons. Most NHL'ers can't even dream of hitting those type of numbers. His salary is reasonable. The "long shot" piece is whether he can breakout, hit the next level to be a star (not superstar). Schenn is a good defenseman, although I doubt he'll ever be going to an all-star game.
