CODY HODGSON IS CLUTCH

Kadri is a bust

- Whiskey-Tango

Too bad he wasn't on the Canucks last year for the Stanley cup team could have used his Cliutchness.

How do you think Grabovski gets the puck?

Hint - Kulemin takes it and gives it to him.

- Big_Lightnin

As reflected in Kulemin's massive assist total? He's averaged an assist every 3 games this year. Not particularly convincing for someone who is supposedly creating Grabo's success.

Kulemin has been noticeably softer in all three zones this year, and his strength on the puck was previously his best asset.

The guy needs a wake up call. It's like watching a totally different player this year.

The Sedins were clutch, just ask the Bruins.

but when you have just as many goals as kulemin playing 1/3 of the amount of games with 2/3 the ice time kule gets per game. That's gotta be a kick in the ol nuts to get sent down again.
- Sheppy99

Kadri's got way more goals than Gustavson too, guess they he's pissed they didn't send Gus down instead of him?

Pretty much the same argument

It's frustrating that Kadri is still so soft on the puck and light on his skates.

The kid can flat out hit. He's added bulk and a bit of a mean streak, so why can't he show a little more strength (or maybe just determination) on the puck?

I wouldn't have minded seeing him on Grabo's wing for a decent stretch of games. Let's be honest: neither Mac nor Kulemin are doing much to earn that spot themselves. With the exception of last night, that line has been mostly invisible (and even last night was more the Grabovski show than anything).

- Leeman4Gilmour

Agreed...that line was completely carried by Grabo...granted Kuli has been a pretty consistent forchecking threat, but it ends there for him.

His confidence is at ZERO. he had good chances last night and just shied away... Take the 2 on 0 for example... sure the puck bounced on him, but he was moving away from the net and just looked lethargic.

1. A sudden, disastrous collapse, downfall, or defeat; a rout.

exactly. it wasn't a debacle.

3rd goal was 100% Gustavsson's fault. C'mon, pick up the puck!!!
- Atomic Wedgie

It was just a little reminder that Gustavsson is still... well, Gustavsson.

He manages to come oh-so-tantalizingly close to making us believe he could be a starter, but then comes a mental lapse like that and we realize that he simply costs us too many games to be the starter down the stretch if we want to make the playoffs.

Frattin should be up ahead of Kadri.

Aulie will be back up once BB makes a trade, like Komisarek

- AngryWhiteMale

I like Frattin and all, but if Kadri had half the scoring opportunities that frattin had point black, kadri would have tons of points.

...Or Bozak... He had Fleury's number all night.
- Cimo

Yes Bozak would have been a better choice over my two suggestions even.

No, as reflected in him being instrumental in both Grabo's goals last night, but not by getting an assist.

Sorry man, but I just can't agree with any of this. He hasn't been soft at all, he's just lost his hands. Defensively he's still a rock. The reason "Grabo's" line is being matched up against other teams top lines is not because of Grabo, it's because of Kulemin

They practice shoot-outs.

Coaches take note of who does the best.

Those guys are the ones who get to take the shots.

Pretty simple math .

Or the empty net chance that he would have buried 9 times out of 10 last year.

But this year, he gets tied up in front and knocked fairly easily to the ice. Somebody needs to remind him that he's 225 pounds. Last year, he was an absolute beast anywhere around the puck.

if he had said the game ended in a debacle, then he would be correct...however, he said the game was a debacle.
in that context a 'debacle' is a 'disaster'.
their game last night was far from a disaster.

IMO mac kulemin, schenn should all be traded now while they have value

frattin replaces kulemin
mac replaced by boyce or kadri
and we have enuff defenders to replace schenns 10 mins a night

only trade schenn for a top 3 forward tho

mac & kule can go for 1st round picks

so now the question is would have he even gotten the same amount of scoring chances Frattin had?

My Answer is no because Frattin would go into the corners and battle it out with his body. Kadri goes into the corner grabs the puck then immediately falls to the ice trying to get a hooking or trip call.

Sorry but Kadri started out well when he was called up but he has fallen in my eyes and I would prefer Frattin instead I mean we are a soft team right, Didn't hear that with Frattin on the ice.

Kadri has sick hands, best on the team - good choice.

When he was on the ice with Grabbo and Kuli he was effective. Connolly and Lombo bring very little. Poor kid.

- HipHopisDead

Lombo is like a new Jason Blake I swear.

Logo shots and great speed.

Connolly I just hate

yah that one bugged me. He was hot dogging trying to pick up the puck rather than smother it. Whiffing on a wrister is one thing - mistime it or whatever, but hot dogging and (frank)ing it up is not cool

uhh not really? I'm sure Kadri isn't pissed that he has more goals than the guy who has season tickets behind the leafs bench as well........

Nice try at a comparison though, better luck next time.

what the hell game were you watching? a debacle???
the Leafs game was the farthest thing from a debacle. they played a fantastic, dominating game for 3/4 of it......their youth and inexperience came into play and they just couldn't close the door this time.

- Barx

The game is 60 minutes. If you cannot close the door on a 4-1 lead with 13 minutes left, it's a debacle regardless of what happened before. 'Youth and inexperience' are convenient responses, but that is not what happened last night. See my original post.

I think we can all agree that whatever Wilson did, it was wrong.

Coolio?
