The other thing about last night, the Leafs speed was great but the way Malkin played at the end was amazing.
He wasn't doing it with speed, he was calculating in his play and setting up great plays.
Sometimes, only sometimes though, I wish the Leafs could slow it down a little and be more calculating. I think they go too fast for themselves at times. Like the Lombo empty net and Kessel OT almost empty net chances.
It doesn't make sense to have the cap go down. It was designed to go up every year and not the other way. Might as well introduce higher cap and luxury tax then if they are going to go up and down with it. - TML4Life85
If cap keeps going up, poor teams fold. It's going up way too much because they weren't expecting revenues to jump this much, particularily after a lock out
I would say Gardiner or Gunnarsson. I like Gunnar's general game, but too many turnovers caused by him whiffing on a slapshot/one-timer, then a generally poor effort to recover from said errors. - p_zub
Those two guys played almost 30 minutes each last night ....I'm thinkin' RW likes them.

That's why Malkin's called a superstar and Kessel's not. Malkin's on a different level, he's pushing Mario territory with his puckhandling

Malkin only started playing in the last couple minutes last night... should be warmed up for tonights game now.
did he not look back and see him there, then swing his stick? Looked like that to me - Big_Lightnin
I think he is pissed with the head coach on the other side, once he hits the assistant, you really see him look over his shoulder, I don't think he knew he was there, plus he was really pissed off, I would also add seeing red and tunnel vision . Funny though, hit him right on the chin

Funny thing you said about Gunnarsson. You know how many times I shout out during games that he always fans on a shot.
Remember the one from earlier this year I think in OT when he fanned and the other team came back the other way and scored.

You keep it that way and move those struggling team because there's no need for other team to be paying other teams' salaries. This league ownership crap should end now.I say keep the cap at $80mill, not going up and not going down and let the team battle it out with respect to whom they sign. Also cut down on these longterm deals. Anything that was signed for more than 6 years should be nulified and renegotiated so teams aren't tied up due to another GM's mistakes. Put the cap at $80Mill, contract no longer than 5 with a 6th year team option and if small market teams aren't making it (Phoneix,Columbus ect) then move them to places where people care about hockey.
