Who has more trade value:

Voracek or JVR or Scheen

Who would you prefer to trade if you had to give up one in a trade (you have to!!!)

- coffee junkie

Scheen. He's #winning.

Suter isn't the only option people. If he walks this summer, then Nashville is pretty much forced to deal Weber as he isn't going to want stick around if he sees his fellow all-star defenseman leave the club. What better time to do that then at the draft.

Weber is one of only 2 or 3 defenseman in the league worthy of actually replacing Pronger. As much as I like Suter, Weber is the better fit, and I'm starting to believe that Homer should do whatever is necessary to acquire his services.

Keep in mind that Weber is going to be an RFA this Summer. So even if Suter walks, that's not going to force Nashville to trade Weber

What if Poile asks for Couturier, JVR and a # 1? That's the type of package it would take to get Weber.

Why are you starting to believe that about Homer? Has Homer or the Flyers management even mentioned interest in Weber? How do we know that they aren't comfortable with the prospects of Mezzy, Coburn, and Carle being the future D core? I know they're looking for D help, but there's a difference between a 3rd pair guy and Pronger's replacement......

I wouldn't do it either. But Nashville will ask for the stars and the moon for him. He's not a UFA, they do not have to trade the guy.

I'd say it's a sure bet the Flyers are interested in Shea Weber.

Weber, much like Pronger, is everything Homer dreams about in a hockey player.

Just my 2 cents though.

Agreed. But in my opinion it's worth it.

Couturier and Giroux are my only untouchables.

If Nashville wants to get maximum value for Weber, then yes it does.

I think your going to have to sweeten the pot a little more to make the best offer.

I'm sure from the moment Holmgren knew Pronger was done, Weber popped into his head. If Nashville made him available, there would literally be a bidding war amongst a good number of teams.

No it doesn't. Not this off season. He could still be traded during the 12/13 Season

We'll see I suppose. That's a damn good offer, and both of those players have the potential to be franchise players. I'd hate seeing them go.

Weber will be traded because they want Mr. Underwood to wear the "C".

The Flyers are in a great position though. They have the offensive depth to be able to handle the loss of Schenn and JVR. Most of the 29 other teams in the league could not.

It is a damn good offer. But is it the best offer? That's the question. If I'm Nashville, one of Giroux or Couturier has to be included. And I'd probably start by asking for both.

Right, but they would probably get less for him during the season than at the draft IMO.

And if Suter leaves, then why not just unload him at the draft? That's ultimately what I think will happen. Of course, that doesn't mean that the Flyers will get him.

Time to bark up a different tree! But you're probably right.
