Weber is one of only 2 or 3 defenseman in the league worthy of actually replacing Pronger. As much as I like Suter, Weber is the better fit, and I'm starting to believe that Homer should do whatever is necessary to acquire his services.

How do we know that they aren't comfortable with the prospects of Mezzy, Coburn, and Carle being the future D core? I know they're looking for D help, but there's a difference between a 3rd pair guy and Pronger's replacement......

I wouldn't do it either. But Nashville will ask for the stars and the moon for him. He's not a UFA, they do not have to trade the guy.

The Flyers are in a great position though. They have the offensive depth to be able to handle the loss of Schenn and JVR. Most of the 29 other teams in the league could not.

We'll see I suppose. That's a damn good offer, and both of those players have the potential to be franchise players. I'd hate seeing them go.

And if Suter leaves, then why not just unload him at the draft? That's ultimately what I think will happen. Of course, that doesn't mean that the Flyers will get him.
