Sutton isnt worth a 2nd IMO.
- Meganuck

I agree, but if he's trading to Vancouver, he asks for a 55th pick instead of an 85th pick. Maybe the compromise is a 3rd and a 4th, or a 3rd and a prospect.

You know the Oilers are hard up for defensmen when fans are worried about losing Sutton.
- Zombie

Sutton is the answer, what does the oil need to improve? more sutton.

Really he's been everything we need, just more of it? most of us get that, you don't?.

Boner took almost 3 months or more to figure it, and his curve is enormous.

Hate hearing all the Sutton rumors to be honest, he's the perfect 5/6 defenseman. Only way I pull the trigger is in a package deal that sends a top 4 our way.
- freelancer

It's just better to ask , who doesn't like Sutton ? I dare someone

Like a desperate chick just wanting any guy who shows the slightest interest in us... He's not that bad, plus he doesn't seem totally disgusted by being here!

Marry him now!!!!!

Probably the best analogy for this situation.

Sutton is barely an NHL'er, theirs a reason he plays the 7th most min/game on one of the worst defenses in the league.

I do not have anyhting "official" just what I thought I had heard before the ASbreak. Nuge, Gibby and Barker all back after AS weekend.

Sutton is nice to have to lay out a guy here and there but he brings very little else to the table.

He clears the front of the net pretty well, something none of our defencemen could seem to do last year.

He's mean and isn't afraid to. Smid and Peckham do just as well a job as Sutton when it comes to moving bodies.

never said he was a no.2. I've heard him referenced as a "battleship" man, and not by our broadcasters. He's mean , he's big, he's cheap, he tough, he's large. He gets suspended. he's the one that scares opponents phyiscally on this team and no one else. You've basically just admitted to me that you're (frank)ing retarded when it comes to hockey sense...

shiiit He's been doing toe drags recently, (frank) thta's gotta be hard to be as wrong as you are.

Oh, forgot to mention that he's good on the PK and he's leading the team in goals when it comes to defencemen (along with Potter, Gilbert, and Smid). He doesn't get any time on the PP though, and he's played less games.

I don't think Peckham is as bad as he is being made out to be. He just is what he is, a 6/7 D man who can fill in higher for a short amount of time if need be.

He's big and mean, I really wish he'd get time on 4th line LW and go back to D on the PK.

Sutton is a below average defenseman. He is (frank)ing huge which is great to have on the team and he is a nice addition to the Oilers. No need to build his statue outside Rexall quite yet though.

Sutton wouldn't be a bad pick up for a playoff team. He brings toughness, shot blocking, the ability to clear the front of the net and a level of intimidation. When it comes to the finer points of hockey, such as being able to skate the puck out of trouble, or make great first passes out of the zone I would suggest looking for a different player but that isn't Suttons game.

In terms of war, he's a tank not a precision sniper. He would make a solid third pairing guy for a playoff team.

Sorry, was proving a point. we should resign him because his value is limited to a team like the oilers. and to a fair contract. I only sorta like him.

It is what it is, coaches don't trust the guy.

Decent 7... (barely) passable 6.

Plus he has the best set of dangles from the back end surprisingly haha.

I'd also say he has better hands then everyone in the bottom 6.

i'm going to be fair. he's a 5-6-7 even on this team, he's the biggest baddest guy on the oil that sports the nhl's worst d, and one of the softest teams. You have to see how that adds value?

He gets suspended because it's hard not to lay a head shot when you're 5 inches taller than everybody. Losing him would be losing our biggest baddest player, playingon a whoafully bad defense in which he fits in fine on the 3rd pairing.

edit: going forward we are ok here on D
