In response to yesterday's thoughtless tweet of the day, Dave Hodge tweeted "To clarify, yesterday's tweet was simply a satirical, tongue-in-cheek observation meant to be humourous and not intended to be offensive." Excellent. I mean how could anyone possibly take offense to the suggestion that they named their kids after the Klan?

Oh I never realized you had Weber for one more year. I hope you guys can keep them both and if you could add 1 more top 6 at the deadline and you guys could be a darkhorse.

That usually seems the sentiment every year here - but in all honestly if Poile can go out and actually grab a really good top 6 forward I think this team can go pretty deep into the playoffs this season.

Weber is RFA so unless someone offer sheets something crazy he is here next year. Sounds like Poile is running with Suter like he did with Hamhius a few years ago. Good chance he walks as UFA and we get nothing.

But when you talk about getting that big time scoring forward, what team right now is going to give up someone like that at the deadline? Will the Ducks actually move Ryan? Will the financial situation in Jersey end up making them move Parise at the deadline? Columbus is done, but I don't see them moving Nash, especially to us. Buffalo may be a seller too.

The next month is going to be interesting.

I don't think the locker room would care too much, as long as he came in and put in the work. Most of the ones in there weren't even here when he left. As far as the fan base, I think they'd get over it pretty fast if he starts scoring a few goals. Also, I think there are a lot more "new" fans than there were when he left.

I hated how he left the team and bolted for the KHL. But if he comes back here next season and is dynamic for us as he is over there, I certainly won't be booing him.

What would the reaction be from the fan base to Radulov and more importantly how would the locker room react?

I would love to have 47 back in the line-up. He had the ability to make things happen. Our offense is playing great; adding him would be icing on the cake!

If Parise and Suter end up going to the same team and that team isn't Nashville, I am going to be pretty pissed.

Actually, if Suter comes up with an excuse on how NOT to sign with the Preds if Poile brings in a TRUE AND TALENTED TOP SIX FORWARD over the tradedeadline, Suter and Weber will have nothing to hide behind in their statements if they choose to leave.

Does anybody think that they have any chance at maybe winning the division this year? We could sure use a banner.

Curious...back when it was just the original six, how long was the season, 82 games? If so, were there three or four game series (much like regular season baseball)? For example, the Blackhawks would visit the Rangers for a three game set, Friday / Saturday / Sunday? Just curious, that's all

All over the map back in the earliest days. Lots of sites with background info, but basically 25 or so years before the so-called Original Six there were anywhere from 3 to 10 teams in the league and the regular season games numbered between 18 & 48.

However, original six beginning in the 40's started out at 50-game seasons and ended at 70 games per season. After that, the number of reg-season games began to creep up when the modern era expansion began in 1967.

Back to Orig Six, for playoffs four of the six were in. (!!!) It was pretty damn easy to accumulate a lot of banners back then - something conveniently overlooked by Orig Six homers today bragging about all of their mighty victories and trophies, etc. (How times have changed, eh Leafs, Habs? Ha!) Mostly I think there were 3 rounds of playoffs back then, each a best-of-seven.

Lots of good reference sites out there, This one is good: http://www.hockey-reference.com/

This question was asked on the Jordin Tootoo show a couple weeks ago and he basically said they'd be all for it. And that most of the older guys are gone now so it's a different locker room. I'd forgive Radulov the minute he stepped on the ice.

Just two rounds: 1 v4; 2 v 3 and the winners for the Cup. And there were only two banners (if that many): regular season champ (don't remember this one, but possible) and SC champ.

Maybe I'm wrong here but Radulov didn't do anything specific to any of the players on the team. What he did was basically filed under his own business and players can separate the two. I think most players just want to win and if Radulov helps them win, I doubt many are opposed, particularily if he didn't have any personal issues with any of the current roster players (again, this is my understanding).
