As a Preds fan, I am surprised so many are down on the Hawks. Sitting here watching the game, I am not nearly as confident that Chicago can't score 3 on Rinne. Rinne is good, and even elite in many cases, but our defense is prone to boneheaded mistakes.

I wouldn't be too worried about the Hawks. Once Toews and Sharp return, Chicago will start destroying the competition. I put Chicago in the same bucket as Nashville and Detroit. All 3 Teams are 1 player away from being playoff dominent. Nashville needs a top 6 forward, Chicago a veteran D man, and Detroit a bottom 6 veteran. I think the Chicago goalie situation will fix itself once the team gets healthy. Nashville has the hardest asset to acquire, but all 3 teams could wreak havoc in the playoffs. I am not sold on St. Louis a I see them as Nashville about 3 years ago: Young and inexperienced, but not enough playoff experience to advance.

At 20 , Duncan Keith was a disaster as well. At 20 , i was screaming for Keith to be traded or sent down or just bonkers as to why everyone was so high on him. He was Mr. Turn the puck over at the blue line.

Im not saying Leddy is Keith but he is 20. He should have less ice time hopefully STan Bow finds us a top 4 D man to ease up on the rest of the D men.

But when everyone is healthy they can score. They're missing over a goal a game.

None of the line combinations is getting good looks at Rinne, not getting any rebounds, even when the control the puck, can't get it to scoring position or get rebounds.

On the positive side, Shaw continues to look good, Seabrook is the best blue liner tonite by far, the box score says they're out hitting Nashville.

Clown shoes in the D zone again. No body checks - AT ALL. What is there for any team to fear about going into the Hawks zone? Nothing.

And again, NOT C2's fault. A soft to non-existent forecheck, and stick dependent defensive play are a formula for unpredictable turnovers which create way too many, and very difficult save opportunities.

Not at all unlike a quarterback without a decent offensive line.

The strategy/coaching is the problem here.

This team sure is awful without #19 out there. This game reminds me of the Hawks of the late '90's/early '00's.....

It's looking like this team will be 4th in the Central/6th in the Conference going into the All-Star break. At this rate, and with a potentially disastrous road trip coming, if Bowman doesn't get off his a$$ soon, they could be sellers by the deadline!!! (Good news is they won't have to trade any of their "prized" prospects).

At least Robin Ventura is out there shooting the puck between periods....

Just dominated in the 3rd - and a stupid, stupid, avoidable penalty kills any chance.

Defense was NOT awful tonite - only 25 SOG, a couple of good saves by Crawford, but they didn't hang him out.

This blog is becoming borderline insane/annoying. A lot of you need to take some chill pills, get piss drunk, or jump into Lake Michigan. You got bums posting and pissed about an errant pass or other stupid things. Jesus Christ already...

IMO, there's no comparison in the Kruger vs Pirri debate. Kruger is more effective all over the ice and goes to the real scoring areas, vice shooting from the outside. Good to observe them both in the lineup. Kruger's a smart, very competitive player and passes well. Pirri should be an effective NHLer at some point, but Kruger is the keeper of the two.

Bickell used up air again at ice level and Kaner appeared to have more hits, even if the stats didn't reflect it. Bickell, unfortunately, is dead weight to this team.

This is a .500 team since 12/15. At that pace, with 32 games remaining - is a playoff miss at 95 points.

shaw had a really good game. he is here to stay and is looking more and more like a top 6 forward
