Don't know about that...but Sutter or Weber in Winged wheel jersey to take Lindstrom's spot next year looking likely. - bogiedoc
Weber won't be in Detroit next year. He's still has RFA status. Unless Nashville intends on trading him, or walking away from an arbitraitor's descision, I don't forsee him going anywhere.
Suter on the other hand could prove to be an interesting situation between now and July 1st.
Sorry. I will write David Poile complaining that the Preds should be putrid for the next five years, draft a considerable amount of the highest talent available, and proceed to play exciting hockey in order to please you. Sound good? - nikoli1206
Don't spend the time on the letter. He"ll never know or care that I won't ever attend a game to watch his team play. The tickets become charitable donations.
JJ, you posted ealier that you would like Stuart from Winnipeg, but he has a friendly cap hit. Didn't the fans have to pay for 5 years of advanced tickets (or something like that)? They have some money in the bank, so to speak. If they were to trade out some popular players, and the fans decide not to show up, don't they still have gate money for future years? Would that not make them more prone to tradse for some prospects knowing that for x years you have that advanced cash?

If you end up writing the letter, please offer a suggestion to change their post-goal-hillbilly-line-dancing song. You might want to suggest "Dueling Banjos" followed by a clip of Ned Beatty squealing with his 'purty mouth".

To me the Jets would be a prine trade target! - powerenforcer
I'd almost have to believe the Jets are going to move a few people. I don't believe Stuart is going to be one of them. With his reasonable cap hit, and he's part of the leadership there doesn't scream trade candidate to me. I'm sure he or Bogosian could be had, but Winnipeg would have to be "wowed" with the return for either one in my opinion. Some team would have to really overpay to get either one.
Johnny Oduya, Randy Jones and Jim Slater are three guys that are upcoming UFA's on that team. I'd almost bet they could be on the move. Ron Hainsey would be another contract I'm sure they'd love to rid themselves of as well.
Trotz always looks like he should be petting a white cat and planning some evil scheme...
On TT, obviously he has a right to opt out of the visit. However, when a high-profile guy, arguably the highest-profile guy on his team, indeed opts out, he places the spotlight on himself and asks for all the attention and distraction he gets in return. He had to know that this would happen.
The fact is, TT's U.S. based team got invited by the leader of the free world to celebrate a Cup victory that annually serves as the epitome of a team win, and TT passed. He could have chosen to respect the Office of the President and act like a gentleman and at the same time communicate team over individual. It was certainly his choice, and in my opinion he chose poorly.
I was no fan of Bush Jr., but if I had ever had the opportunity to meet him in person, I would have shaken his hand and given him the respect his office deserves as a proud American citizen. - HealthyScratch1

Do you really want a $2.3 4th line face-off specialist?

I completely disagree with Thomas's decision to not attend the White House, as for me he should have gone to support his own team mates, but I do agree it should be his choice to not attend a "work function" if he indeed felt uncomfortable in doing so. I think that is his choice to do so and I think the reasoning he gave is acceptable and not offensive to anyone and he, as a citizen, should be allowed to voice his opinion in this fashion. It is simply just his own political belief and whether I agree with the principle of the matter or not, I don't have any issue with him expressing it provided it was presented as it was. - Lohaus
Seriously... I would think the only time his teamates need support is when the likes of Ovechkin comes in on a breakaway. Not to take a PR trip to the White House. These guys are athletes. Let's not overthink this...

Exactly, having had access to pro teams at various levels...you would be surprised how many guys, even on good teams cant stand each other...
It is like any office environment...so long as everyone does their job..nobody cares. Everyone has enough to worry about themselves. And with pro sports, many fans do not understand how much time guys spend with one another...it grates on you...
