anything is possible

1. B. Boyes traded from Buffalo

2. Toronto trades for better D and better goalies

Leafs goals-for-goals against ratio is zero and 2 of top 10 scorers in league are Leafs.

Scoring not the problem.

D-fense is

Leafs have let in 6th most goals in the league.

Seems D-fense and goalies (like in Ottawa, 3rd worst in league) is the problem

yes can regier, but ruff has to go too, darcys not the one in the locker room that can no longer motivate the players. the sabres need to take a trip to roswell park to get the cancers cut out of them, which include : derek roy, ryan "headcase" miller, lindy, darcy, and stafford.

Or that he's staying in Toronto...

Then it would read "...with Toronto fans not looking thrilled afterward."

I hope that "game-changing" trade is actually made rather than just rumored, which is usually what happens via the Darcy Regier office.

So many different ways to interpret "game-changing":

1. Does Darcy actually accept a trade where he sees himself on the losing end of the deal? In other words dealing Roy for bag of pucks and getting rid of the biggest poison pill on the team?

2. Do we see Ryan Miller exiting due to his play and comments yesterday?

3. Does the rumored Myers for Getzlaf trade actually happen?

R you saying there may be a correlation between the Sabres winning all those games in teh second half and making teh playoffs last year becasue Roy was out and then when he was back in teh Lineup they lost a series to a team with no goalie?

Just curious is there a high talent Gm out there that could replace Darcy?

Regier Fired. Ruff Promoted to GM. Arniel or Carlyle named coach. Hecht traded for Gomez. Same terrible product

Thats why I asked if one was available even a great one who could come out of "retirement". If you stuff enough money in a bag and throw it at someone eventually they will fall down. T Pegs can throw money at a problem like few others can. The money toss is always a great way to conduct business even as the Rangers.

If Ruff is promoted to GM then the team will be full of Matt Ellis clones.... No thanks.

there is usually a reason why gm's retire

either they were not good enough
they couldnt handle the stress of the job (yes it is very stressful when your in that kind of position)
and the good ones are usually always taken

i dont see any great gm's that dont have a job right now that would come back

it would either be someone within the organization (most likely) or someone who has the skills to be a gm but would be a "rookie"

I really dont see Pegulla firing anyone exactly. Just restructure. Ruff deserves better. Hell just end up coaching for another team and beating us every time.
Roy will be gone too, but you cant expect anyone to give us anything reasonable. Our best bet would have been Roy and a 3rd for Turris

Yeah, it seems as if Ruff holds a grudge toward players who want to play their skills game instead of his boring system.

Um isnt that exactly what Soctty Bowman did then have his son move into the GM role in Chicago.

What I dont understand is Scotty lives in Buffalo how has he never been given a spot in teh organization for a long time.
Larry Carrierre would be nice to steal away from Montreal. FYI he also lives in Buffalo still to this very day.

If Schenn is scratched: trade
If he plays: No trade

Simple Simon. No reason to have Schenn as a healthy scratch, and hes not injured.

you have an advantage when you can learn from the best, its not that common either

he was well groomed and has that name behind him, and as you see a big market team got his services

he may just be getting a break and to watch from the box, he hasnt been all that great this year

what i dont understand is leaf fans keep saying they can get a great player for him, but say he is one of the worst dmen this year which will lower his trade value

while his value will still be high and he will most likely bring back someone worth more than he will most likely turn out, his value has dropped some this season, and they may need to add a lil extra to spice things up
