Did he not start the winter classic and in back to back games last week?

Still would be contradictory to reward some, and not others.

I think BOB has been plenty rewarded for his play as a back up goalie. He is a defined back up and I think giving him the WC and multiple starts in a row shows Laviolette's support and praise of him. If the entire team is saying Bryz is the number 1, it would be contradictory not to play him more than BOB.

JVR is faking his concussion to avoid being traded. Didn't you know?

Also, the Flyers did not know that Bryzgalov liked to talk to the media.....took them completely off guard.

I love how he doesn't get overly amped for a goal too, like he expected it to go in, not jumping for joy that he got a goal. Tells me he's confident and believes he should be scoring. I love that kid.
- funmaster18

For such a young kid, he has the poise of a veteran. I love everything about his game and as he learns more he will only get better.

I'd wait until someone around here reports it. Last I heard everyone was on the ice as normal this morning except JVR and Rinaldo.

Just like the Flyers rewarded Bob after a magnificent performance vs. the Isles last week?

Oh, wait...

- bradleyc4

In my opinion there is a difference there. Bob's role is the backup (at least for now), and as such should not necessarily expect to be rewarded with more starts whenever he plays well. The job of the backup is to play well when called upon and not rock the boat when you're not playing. I think Bob has been fantastic this year, but unless we are completely ready to junk Byrz this year (and I know that some already are), I don't want Bob getting more starts because he does well when he plays. Byrz needs to get those 60-ish starts Reese talked about yesterday, and that won't happen if Bob gets another start every time he plays well. Being a backup is not always fair. Sucks for Bob, but I think it's best for the team. At least I hope it is. Time will tell I suppose...

Schenn was scratched earlier this year, due to his play or lack there of.

I thought he was talking about Brayden Schenn this whole time

Did he change that post or did it always say Luke?

I think Schenn was a HS earlier in the season too... But it is curious... Especialy with Bill saying Couturier will be double shifted... There should be enough players to play without double shifting him, unless something is up...

Okay, I can somewhat agree with the premise of not necessarily rewarding the back-up goalie every time he plays well.

But I can't get behind the idea of just continually throwing Bryz out there just because he's the supposed "starter". We're more than halfway through the season and Bob has been the better goalie. Will that continue? No clue. But I believe the hot hand should be played from here on out. Hopefully Bryz can find some magic.

Luke Schenn is a scratch, not Brayden Schenn.
