disregarding the Doan part, the only reason I could possibly believe they'd trade Kane at this point is because of his antics off-ice. Apparently the guy is a huge party-animal and cheats on his girlfriend constantly. His name has been thrown around Winnipeg quite a lot recently (in non-hockey respect ofcourse).

Why would they pick up Doan though? That is stupid; Doan also doesn't want to move - his kids and his wife are from there. He isn't going to make a nostalgic return to cold, gross Winnipeg just for a year or two...doesn't make any sense.

If E. Kane gets traded (due to his issues off-ice) I'd expect another out-of-sorts young star to be coming back; perhaps a Bobby Ryan?

very true, we do have a boatload of ok Defencemen, what terrifies most of us is if we lose Schenn just before he actually lives up to all the expectations that us leaf fans give him. I guess you could easily make the same argument about JVR too tho...
