we can't get a bag of pucks in return for roy and stafford so there is no discussion

on the Myers for Getzlaf....helllllll no, Myers is absolutely the future and if we make this trade I will consider abandoning my team

- Carrsrkewl9

ok then add Grags or Sekera.

Now come on he won a cup with you guys, so not like he really hurt anything. Though is sad seeing his career going downhill. Still think that hit he took from Cam Janssen some years back really messed him up, just not the same player after it.
- FlareKnight

Ha ha ha! It was sarcastic trade proposal. No seriously though

Yap, yap, yap. Getzlaf for Myers. Get Buffalo fans all riled up. Getzlaf has a $5.3 mil cap hit, Myers is $1.3 mil. The money doesn't work, Ek! $4 million needs to come back to Anaheim to even think about this happening. So that's possibly Roy and Myers for Getzlaf. Or Regehr, or Ehrhoff. Can't see Anaheim wanting Stafford or Boyes. Plus Buffalo will have to trade a prospect (McNabb?) according to what Murray is asking for.
So, this should be the starting point assuming it's Roy, Getzlaf for Myers, Roy, and McNabb.
Discuss amongst yourselves.

Myers will be 5+ M$ next season(assuming there is one) , he signed a 7-8 year-deal

True I do not understand the consistency problems with my team. It seems goaltending is a huge issue for us.
- mighty13duck

You guys have a crappy team with awesome young stars. Makes a not so good season still fun to watch.

Our team is just stale. We should trade Miller to the Island.

He has 11 goals... 11 assists... 22 points playing pretty limited minutes. He has the ability to dominate games physically and on the scoreboard. They are both solid players.... but for what toronto needs.. you HAVE to make this deal.

They are the same age... similar in the fact they haven't exactly lived up to all the hype that surrounded them. It seems like a pretty fair trade for both sides.

It is not so fun to watch when you are constantly in the basement and still have no idea where you will play in a couple of years. Our building situation needs to be fixed before next season to allow fans to know we truly are "committed."

Problem is that Toronto still wants a big center. Unless it becomes a 3 team deal then I don't see it happening.

Luke Schenn with a 3.5M$ cap hit for the next 5 years looks pretty fine to me though. I wouldn't make that trade

myers cap hit is 5-6 next years, so ducks would have to take boyes and boyes contact is over this year so cap number isnt a big deal

Cunnyworth is aware of the criticism because he is learning French, obviously.

And it is hardly a scandal.

Over-exaggerate much?

- JDJ

Out of the loop much? Clearly you don't live in MTL if you say it is hardly a scandal. I do. The owner and GM publicly apologized to fans for making that decision. That never happens.

He has 22 points.

Tell me again about his ability to dominate games on the scoreboard.

Or are there 144 guys in the NHL with the ability to dominate a game on the scoreboard?

Don't try to over-rate a player, son. I'm a Leafs fan. That's what we do.

You'll never be as good at it as I am.

My main issue with Gauthier's season so far is how he has not been public enough in getting people to grow up and get past the fact that Cunneyworth doesn't speak French. I get the French media's desire to have a French guy to interview and I also get the fact that French Canadian Habs fans want a French coach. I love the cultural aspect of the franchise. I just think sometimes it needs to be kept in a proper perspective and Gauthier is the one guy who could have made that more clear.

oh, really, Ek? so, say the Flyers hired a unilingual French coach, you'd have no problem with this? and you'd expect the fans not to care? no offense, but you Americans live in a bubble. so, for that matter, do Canadians west of Kingston. language issues are always overblown. until it's your language that's in discussion. it's a fact of life in Quebec.

3.6 compared to 4.25.... ill admit the cap hit is nicer... and dont get me wrong I think schenn is better than most give him credit for.

But schenn proved last year that he isn't very effective as a top 2 d-man... he is more of a 3-5 range.. hovering in the top 4 to bottom 2 area. Most effective in the 15-16 minute range. Hes been giving the opportunity as a top pairing guy and didn't prove much. Where JVR has barely been giving top 9 minutes and has shown flashes of brilliance. I think if put in the right situation where he is averaging over 16 minutes a night in a top 6 role.. he could get 60+ points. IMO

Nobody wants Stafford, Sekjera, gragani, boyes fill in anyone who has more than 1 year nhl exp. Grags if traded would have had to been before the season eveyone knwos hes awful now. Sekjera would have had to been traded last deadline hes terrible now. One final point whos still the GM in Buffalo still Darcy? YEs so hes still in love with his players. Hed ask for Ryan and getzlaf for Myers.

I say scandal in the terms of the true definition of the word scandal.

This is just media bullpoop to sell papers, fill airtime, etc...

They know now he WAS available but on the radio this morning they were talking of GMs who wish they knew he was available.

That is why Gauthier is getting roasted in some media circles right now.

- leafs93

From the moment he gave the interview, a trade was inevitable.

I knew it (check my posts from yesterday). EE knew it. Everyone knew it.

If an NHL GM couldn't have figured this out by themself, he needs to hand in his letter of resignation.

Winnipeg trades Kane for Doan they are smoking crack a 20 something year old player for a player in the twilight of his career. Stupid move.
- Leafsfan9329

disregarding the Doan part, the only reason I could possibly believe they'd trade Kane at this point is because of his antics off-ice. Apparently the guy is a huge party-animal and cheats on his girlfriend constantly. His name has been thrown around Winnipeg quite a lot recently (in non-hockey respect ofcourse).

Why would they pick up Doan though? That is stupid; Doan also doesn't want to move - his kids and his wife are from there. He isn't going to make a nostalgic return to cold, gross Winnipeg just for a year or two...doesn't make any sense.

If E. Kane gets traded (due to his issues off-ice) I'd expect another out-of-sorts young star to be coming back; perhaps a Bobby Ryan?

If the unilingual french coach could turn Bryz into the consistently on-his-game top tier goalie they thought they traded for, then I do not think they would care.

Thank goodness Ek mentioned the JvR talk. now it wont' happen and we can all still like Burke.
- weirdoh

Except that Koshan alo wrote about this today. so I am terrified still.

BTW, Koshan wrote his piece... BEFORE Ek.

The reason they noth mentioned the same things is that they happen to have sources that get the same information. This happens in the hockey world all the time.

No, really.
