Wrong Dreger said if Flyers offered JVR for Schenn it would be done in a second. As posted earlier as well...
Don't be surprised if Burke meets with Schenn today. If deal doesn't go down soon, I expect Burke will tell Luke its not happening. - beleaf4ever
When?
Dont think he actually said that. |

That's why it makes perfect sense. Making a deal for another top 6 winger, with size, for a top 4 defenceman, who shoots right, sets up a larger deal. It free's up the Leafs to move a MacArthur, or a Kulemin, with a centre like Bozak or Grabovski, for a top line center with size. The top line center goes between Kessel and Lupul, giving them even more room out there to create. JVR plays with Connolly and either MacArthur or Kulemin. That leave either Bozak or Grabovski, to play with Armstrong and Kari. The Leafs currently have 4 players that play on the right defence position. One has to go. Leafs can get more from the Flyers, for the fact that Brayden Schenn plays there and they want to re-unite the brothers. The JVR for Schenn deal makes perfect sense. - PrinceLH
You are right about one thing, if Burke does make that deal I'm almost convinced he already has another one in the works. He would not add another winger without plans to subtract someone from our group of wingers. |

I totally agree he should be given the chance. The only issue is that he didn't JUST land in MTL. He was an assistant with the Habs and lived in the city. Before that he lived in Ottawa where there is a huge francophone population. Had he wanted to learn French, he had the opportunity on multiple occasions. Clearly he is just someone with no interest in trying to learn the language and is only now bowing to the pressure. - sensfan1984
Or they didn't make it clear to him that it was a requirement, maybe they only said it would be nice if you knew the language.
Let's face it, they made him coach and he didn't speak French so I'm going out on a limb and saying that Gauthier didn't even realize how deep the culture ran with the fans otherwise they would have never brought him into the organization even.
Gauthier, "Hey Randy, got some great news for you. You're the new head coach of the Montreal Canadiens!"
Cunneyworth, "Totally Awesome Dude! I've been waiting a long time for this opportunity."
Fast forward 1 day.
Gauthier, "Hey Randy, got some bad news for you. You're probably done at the end of the year unless you can learn French asap and get the media and fans on your side. Oh yeah, would be nice if we won some games along the way."
Cunneyworth, "Bummer." |

blasphemy.
the jets won't stand for such an intolerable act.
The Jets will be lucky to get 5th rounder now the the league gms have read this damning piece of vital information. - Barx
That is simply an effect of the lifestyle I was describing (and to be honest, I doubt most GMs would tolerate having one of their players being a constant off-ice distraction, regardless of what that entails).
So yes, please place yourself back in your fermenting burrow of destitution. And until the next opportunity for banal remarks emerges! |

there's actually a law in vancouver (not sure if it's a provincial or municipal law) that states that you have to be 10 feet away from a commercial/business doorway to smoke. |

I will say this.. I do beleive that Buffalo does need to trade for a Popular Canadien player. Somehting to keep those people of the north coming down buying up all the tickets. |

-Dreger - Scruffton
If JVR comes to TOR then you have to think that another winger just became dispensible since we are getting pretty close to having some solid lines going.
Schenn / MacArthur and maybe something else for JVR. MacArthur would replace his scoring anyways.
I wouldn't give up anymore than that unless Bobrovsky was included which would be something to consider.

I watch them all day long here in greater Boston. The wind is blowing like bastard today to. Suckers. They're also paying roughly 9$ a pack these days. I still that kind of treatment is a little ridiculous though. They're smokers not terrorists.

I think there is actually a law in Vancouver that you can't light a cigarette unless the match would subsequently be used to incite a riot by way of a fire.
