thanks to those recent posts by Dopps i ended up watching like 6 more Glenn Beck vids because i am sick
one thing i dont get is why supporting Israel is like such a big thing for Conservatives.
I mean I understand siding with them if you choose to, but it just seems like its such a major point of emphasis in the right-wing agenda and I cant figure out the real reason for it.

Only real democracy in an area surrounded by dictators/violators of human rights (Syria, Iraq, Iran, etc.).
Honorable fighting stance:
They've shared their tech with us, improving ours over the years and vice versa.
And the kicker (for this site):
Only country in that area that Roger Neilson visited and supported hockey in.

i get all of this - and im not trying to diminish the issue - i just find that whenever either party, dems or reps, take such passionate stands on subjects there is usually some sort of underlying motive for doing so, beyond the obvious.. or the stated reasons.

politically speaking, it is a pretty stupid stance, given how many Americans don't like Israel.
However, it is in the US's favour to keep Israel safe, not on any moral ground... just because Israel is a friendly state, and is pretty much the best beach-head the US has for the Middle east.

hmm, I guess I was wrong there, just seemed, watching clips of protesters in the states that people didn't like israel. Looking up polls reveals the opposite is true.

Every news media has a bias and a slant. If you watch a lot of liberal type outlets, their stance will usually be more against Israel due to the proclivities of their viewership. Whereas a conservative outlet...you get the idea.
