After taking office in 2009, with spending and debt already at record high levels and the deficit headed to $1 trillion, President Obama proceeded to pass his own $830 billion stimulus, auto bailouts, mortgage relief plans, the Dodd-Frank financial reforms and the $1.7 trillion ObamaCare entitlement (which isn't even accounted for in the chart). While spending did come down in 2010, it wasn't the result of spending cuts but rather because TARP loans began to be repaid, and that cash was counted against spending.

In 2011 and 2012, the pace of spending was slowed when a new emboldened breed of Republicans took back the House promising to end the binge. The House Budget Committee, headed by Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, has identified about $150 billion of new spending Mr. Obama wanted in 2011 and 2012 that Republicans would not approve. As the chart shows, government spending as a share of GDP fell, and taxes were not raised. But to attribute this drop in government spending to the president or congressional Democrats would be dishonest.

It is so convenient how he set up Obamacare to take affect AFTER the election isn't it..

yes... but it is a false sense of warm fuzzy.. Within 6 months after the election unless Obamacare gets repealed the spending will equal that of the previous 4 years. There is also the fact that the TARP kick backs are being taken out of the total which lowers it as well..

for you to say that you are not affected by it makes me smile. what do you think the open market value of the dollar is based upon, inflation, and the cost of imported goods and the value of exported goods. Thank you or letting me see this.

I find it funny how many americans claim to love their country, but insist on having it run by people who couldnt care less about how many people suffer for the few who would benefit from their policies.

A successful country starts with a healthy, educated population... Thats something you get from having a government that subsidizes healthcare and education. And with the system in the US, you've got one party pushing for healthcare, and another populated with religion-over-science nutjobs. The choice should be quite clear.

the root cause of the problem is the media, they attack whomever is president, rip apart their families and scope their colon for anything naughty since birth

no decent respectable genuinely good person will go into politics to be backstabbed and attacked when so much more money is to be made in the private sector

sad part is when poop goes down anywhere on the planet the first people they look to for help for the most part is the Americans

With the way the sciences are being villified throughout the states, in favour of religious thought and talk of conspiracy theories ... it won't be that way for long. Unless something changes, America is in for a big decline. And there's nothing on the right side of the aisle that's going to help America move in the right direction.

What's the matter?

Don't you respond to facts that blow your left wing prgressive talking points out of the water???

Table 1.1 (http://www.whitehouse.gov...y2013/assets/hist01z1.xls) shows the official White House deficit Number PROVING Obama's deficit numbers are HIGHER by a large margin, than Bush's

You probably shouldn't read it, it contains facts. I know how much you hate those.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/Historicals

Bush's last four years

2005 -318,346
2006 -248,181
2007 -160,701
2008 -458,553
total..............................................-1186,781

Obama's last four years
2009 -1,412,688
2010 -1,293,489
2011 -1,299,595
2012 -1,326,948
total............................................-5332,720

Obama..................Bush
(-5332,720) - (-1186,781) = -4145,939

NOW, please tell us how the White House numbers, clearly showing Obama's Deficit numbers being astronomically higher(-4145,939) than Bush's, are wrong!!!

you can't just do this for the sake of doing it.. Obama's plan on healthcare is not the way to do it. Education reform is in the process but i don't think we are as far behind as people think we are in that regard. There is a study out there that says in International jobs USA citizens tend to be the more sought after people, i can't find it right now though.

The bigger issue with education is parents, the increased involvement of government, and the overall feeling of every kid is a winner. Teachers have no availability for creativitiy therefore they become stale and less involved. Parents don't give a crap therefore the kids don't give a crap. Kids are allowed to nothing and still get a D because you can't hurt little Timmy's feelings. Due to goverment regulations on schools each district has to hire more administrators to do useless jobs which means less money goes to the schools facilities. Unions hurt the ability of a school district to make teachers accountable, therefore you end up with teachers that don't give a crap. Correct me if i am wrong on any of these items.

way to be informed..

Democrats are forcing the current healthcare down our throat.... Ask any republican if they feel we need reform to the current healthcare system and 90-100% of them would agree, they just don't agree with the way it was set up by the democrats. And then there is the fact that Obamacare is in direct violation of the Bill of Rights.

Let me put together a hypothetical for you.. Lets say you don't want to kill your neighbor because you feel it is wrong and against your morals to do so or have any involvement in the act of doing it. But the government came in and said that because that person is not wanted by your other neighbor you must give me $100 dollars to kill him..

Whether you think a fetus is a human life or not, the catholic church (and others) believes so and they want to have no involvement in the act of murdering that child. But the government is currently giving them the middle finger and says i don't care about your morals we only care about ours.

It is fine that you do not believe in the church and their ideals but they don't force you to believe.. So why can you force your ideals on them? what makes you better than them?
