Kadri has top-line potential, Frattin(who was drafted) has top-6 potential, Franson has top-4 potential, and this is a deep draft, so who knows who that 2nd could be.

Eberle is the much safer bet to become a top liner. Therefore, you need to give up something pretty good to upgrade Kadri to him.

Eberle is getting 15 mins a night in the NHL and putting up 1st line type numbers already.

Kadri hasn't shown he can even hang in the N yet. (not to say he won't, but his current value is much lower than Eberle given his inability to put up #'s in the NHL)

53 points per 80 games is extremely borderline top line scoring. The fact that he did it in his first 80 games in the league is impressive. Not saying he's a 1st line lock or that he's definitely going to have a better career, but it's something to consider.

Oh, no doubt. Got no criticism about his play, just pointing out gretz's Homerism, for the hell of it.
