In most cases, I don't feel playing these kids at 18 is a good idea.

Was it not Ken Linesman's court challenge that forced the NHL hand, to lower the Draft Eligibility age to 18?

This then opened the doors to 18 year olds being able to play in the NHL.

To be fair, there isn't much else going on these days and a lot of fans are starved for hockey of any kind.

Of course this doesn't explain why dopps does this creep-level stuff when we have hockey.

Well a few leaf fans, in some of the other threads have been suggesting that they want the season cancelled, so that they (the leafs) could get another high draft pick, and that this will put them all that much closer to a playoff team.

But history has shown that the drafting history of the leafs has not served them well, even with high picks.

So the video is a little reminder to those who think a lost season will be good for the leafs.

Its unbelievable how much of a weirdo he is. He's been doing this for years.

This, and quoting entire articles everywhere.

Oh, and the hoax.

What else is there?

Actually the Leaf chances of winning the top pick would drop from 8.1% last year to 6% if the draft were to follow the rules established for the 2005 lockout.

More important, the probable odds for the Leafs to drop below the #5 slot goes up tremendously.

When you can't debate a person with facts and logic, to hold your side on an issue and find that you are losing...............then attack the person and call them names.

If there is no season this year the Leafs will have a 43% probability of drafting at the #6 slot or better. Last year they were 100% certain of drafting at #6 or better. If there is no season and the 2005 rules are applied the Leafs would have a 57% probability of drafting at #7 or lower.

There is no draft benefit for the Leafs if the season is cancelled. Time to play hockey.

Nothing to debate here. I'm just responding to a post that pointed out how much of a weirdo you are, with some facts and examples.

You are assuming they use the same formula as last time.
To make your assertion we have to know the Draft rules first.

I honestly dont think if we play part of a season the leafs will totally stink, they will be mediocre, probably a fringe playoff team at best. I think they have a better shot at a higher pick with no season.

Burke may do something silly and trade for Luongo if there is a season also, we need to avoid that too

well, if they start the same way they did last year, in a half season, it'd be impossible for them to pick top-5.

If they play the way they did to end the season, then it's guaranteed.

It depends on which Leafs team we get.

Yes, I just did the calculation based on the 2005 formula. I was just trying to highlight that it is self defeating to think that the Leafs would get a top lottery pick if the season were cancelled.
