According to dopps, having someone's number all night means you took the puck away from them twice.
- Schenn-Sational!

OV did not show up on the Score-sheet, and Karlsson played against him for most of the night, and broke up a few of his attacks, resulting in Karlsson recovering the puck and turn the play around the other way.

Big difference when you see a game, and only reading the stats.

My point exactly. The trashing comes when these facts (The leafs have not made the playoffs since spring 2004) are interpreted as trashing. For some reason pointing out facts is distasteful for some leaf fans.

What leafs fans haven't posted facts in this thread?

What is the difference between a full carton of eggs, and one that is missing a few eggs?
- Doppleganger

I'm going to make this really simple:
Define what you would consider to be an incomplete set of stats.

You're really a joke..

Obviously leaf fans know this. Don't act like you are stating it just as a fun fact. You are using it as a way to put people int heir place.

Just as I could say that OTT has lost the majority of their playoff series agaisnt the leafs. Obviously you know this, and the only reason a leaf fan would bring it up is to piss you off.

First of all, do you assume that whomever is tasked with recording stats for an NHL game, sees and records everything? If you do, then there is not point trying to tell you that I know what I saw in the game, and what I saw has been confirmed by another observer of the game, and despite what you've gleaned from the stats, the turnovers between OV and Karlsson did in fact happen. You can't change that fact because you can't see then in the Stats.

That's what I call incomplete stats.

When I see a carton of eggs in the Supermarket. I don't assume there are 12 white unbroken eggs in it............unless I saw that exact same carton being filled at the processing plant.

Well, as a sidebar, do you assume there is only ONE person recording every stat for an NHL game?

Now that you've defined what you'd call incomplete stats, what would you define as incorrect stats?

Do you assume there is a team of impartial NHL employees at every game, and that they record every single thing that happened in the game?

Also do you assume that when you've read the stats package the next day, that you are on equal footing with someone who watched the game in HD, replays and all, and who've also read the stats?

So if you believe that someone who watched a NHL game (in HD) and read the stats the next day, is the equal of someone who only read the stats, then there is no point. You're trying to force a square peg into round hole to make some kind of point.

BTW, do the refs in a NHL ever miss a penalty call, and offside or not see when there are to many men on the ice???

I just said NO to the bolded assertion.

Answer my question. What are incorrect stats? Do they exist?

If an offside is missed, or a penalty call is missed, or a too many men of the ice call is missed.............did it happen?

If you answer yes, then how would you know if you only read the stats?

If you answer no, because you only read the stats assuming they are a complete picture of what happened in any given game, then you would be incorrect.

That is a either a poor answer to my question, or a poor diversionary tactic.

When would a set of stats be incorrect?

For some leaf fans, primarily those on the leafs troll patrol. it meana everything in the world!!!!

For some reason they see the NHL stats are as sacred as the Bible, the Koran, Tao-te-ching, Upanishads & Veda or whatever holy books or teachings they want.

I and another poster ( a leaf fan ) innocuously commented on a couple (or so) turnovers that Karrlsson and OV were involved in, and they are treating these observation as Blaspheme.

WTF does it matter to them? I believe their sole purpose is to simply stir the crap.

you're so full of crap. At least there is one once of give in Prock or Spatso, or even Gretzky or annoyance. You insist on not listening to what anyone else argues, all the while providing obtuse responses to people repeatedly asking you for justification. I withdraw myself from the conversation. Hopefully we can have a little more success next time at being adults. Well, I'll have the exact same amount of success at being an adult, and you'll have much much more than you've displayed here.

Dude, I WATCHED the game in question and saw the turnovers in question, as did Spatso.

Apparently these were not reflected in the the stats, and according to you, I did not see what I and all the other viewers of the game saw.

Also in the Sens vs Hurricanes game, I and the rest of the viewers saw Zack Smith get slashed on the hands, and no penalty was called. It was shown on replay, and this uncalled infraction was not recorded or reported in any stats....................doesn't mean it did not happen.

True as this may be, you have even less to stand on, what with the blinding homerism.
