I just like the idea of him and kessel blowing past the pylon defenders of the northeast division for years to come
- lebderp

Too bad Lombardi will blow by them, and not do much else. If he can still play well, it'll be the defensive side of things that will be his focus, not the offense.

We're getting together a pretty speedy group of forwards, though. Kessel, Kulemin, Grabo, Frattin, Lombardi, & Brown are all pretty damn quick on their feet, that'll be good for the forecheck, and will draw some penalties fairly regularly.

I understand your point here, and I fully agree he should be captain...

However, I don't think giving him the C is going to keep him from doubling his money in the KHL - if he would ever consider taking that option, he's going to take it whether he's captain or not.

- Big_Lightnin

It wouldn't be the solitary reason but it'd help in keeping him here. The more attached he is to the Marlies, the tougher it is for him to just up and leave.

agree on army's skating but not bozak. bozak has the wheels but tried to hard to set kessel up all the time instead of finishing his own chances. but i would say bozak is more than capable of keeping up to lombardi
- Dozzer

Bozak has good acceleration - but I don't think he could match lombardi stride for stride.

I hear the voice of Borat, when I read your posts. It's pretty funny, and probably the sole reason why I always think you're joking.

high five!

i hope lombardi plays on friday - would be nice to see what he brings to the table (though its first game in a year pretty much, i imagine he stayed in pro shape).

If he's thinking that, it's time to retire.
- Atomic Wedgie

I didnt say HE wouldnt feel comfortable at centre, I meant the management might want to ease him back in as a winger

Not apples to apples. Frattin is nearly 3 yrs older than Kadri.

It's his first camp and he's the golden boy who can do no wrong - much like Kadri was in his first camp.

Frattin has more giveaways per game than Kadri this preseason, but the commentators don't rave about them because no one's made an issue of it yet. Kadri has a history of giveaways, so he makes 1 or 2 in a game (Saturday) and gets raked over the coals.

Frattin has 4 similar giveaways entering the zone in the same game, and no one says poop.

They're being measured with different sticks.

You trying to infer something here? Keep in mind that Zigomanis is Macedonian / Greek.

not many could, but on a line i think bozie could do well with him

i would love to see kessel and lombardi on the PP together with Connolly dropping back to the point.. that would be deadly with the extra open ice

moreso 4-on-4 than on the PP though. PP mostly (ideally) spent set-up in the zone - open ice speed doesn't come into play as much.

Kessel and Lombardi on a 4on4 would be fun to watch
