No he doesn't. The Leafs have six centers on the roster. Boyce, Dupuis and Lombardi would all play center before they'd call up Zigomanis. And so what if they called him up? He'd get five or six games and then be back with the Marlies.
- Unholy_Goalie

lets face it, for zigo to play in the NHL this year there would have to be a mass of injuries to the centres throughout the leafs system

he is there to help groom the young prospects into professionals

Kadri gets sent down and Frattin makes the team to start. When Lombardi is back to form, Frattin gets sent down too. Then, when the team starts it's usual fire sale, two or three roster spots open up and they get called up.
- Unholy_Goalie

Yea we could be safe with frattin for a bit. I'm not so sure we'll even have a fire this year - but I know your position so I'll leave it at that..

What if Hamilton was Italian?

You trying to infer something here? Keep in mind that Zigomanis is Macedonian / Greek.

Lombardi will be 3rd line.

There is no difference between Boyce, Dupuis and Zigomanis. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if all of them were having team dinners with Duke the Dog by Friday.

Calling up your minor league captain means more work for the Marlies' seamstress.

It's definitely between Zigo and Hammy. Both lead by example, and both wore the A while Foster was wearing the C. My guess has always been Hamilton, because he's been there longer, and has been a leader since he was brought in. I wouldn't be against it if Zigo got it though. Both are great for that team.

Good for him. Give him an A. Give Zigomanis the C. They need reasons to keep him around because it's only a matter of time before he gets fed up with playing in the AHL and takes off.

Takes off to where? The KHL?

I dunno, I'm hyper and happy on days where I miss my coffee too. If coffee has done anything to me, it's stunted my growth. I'm sure I'd be taller had I not started drinking it at the age of 7.

He will be 3rd line WINGER. Bozak is the center. Better at face-offs. Check the Bozak hatred.

There is a difference and the difference is that Boyce and Dupuis are both better skaters and both preferred by the coaching staff. There is a reason why Zigomanis got sent down way before both of those guys.

The seamstress won't be stressed out because Zigomanis is unlikely to get called up.

To wherever they will pay him the most. I doubt he's made a lifelong commitment to the Marlies. At least if they slap the C on him, he feels like his career has meaning to it.

He appears to have a slight build up of summer rust, and his timing has been off so far in camp. I'm confident he'll settle down before to long though. Last night was one of his more okay games, so he's on the upswing.

But don't you dare criticize him..........don't even think about it.....

i agree, i know someone tweeted (I think it was hendricks) that lombardi was going to start on the 4th line to get back into it but that makes no sense to me. why would you ice a fourth line, the one relied on to do the hard checking and the provide the tough element with two guys both coming back from concussions?

that makes no sense to me.

Both are on one year deals but Zigomanis gets paid more. And he's better. And older.
