well, when it comes right down to it only the coaching staff's opinion of him matters. he has his bad moments, but overall, he has had a decent pre-season. is he overpaid? sure he is but expecting him to "earn" that paycheque is a fantasy. I just want him to be stable back there and not try and be a hero cause thats when he gets running around in his own end and thats nothing but trouble for a defenseman like him

nah, that first game where dion was penalized was pretty much the exact same thing, guy carrying puck has his head down and the elbow and forearm make contact with the head, and the guy dion hit didnt even have the puck anymore

the only thing that bugs me about the neil hit last night was it looked like neil raised his forearm at the last second

neil is tough, no question, and i think his hits are very borderline so with that in mind I think he'll see a suspension if he doesnt reign himself in a bit, same idea goes for phaneuf.. both will have to keep an eye on where the initial contact gets made. dion has pushed the limits a couple times this pre-season already
