So you're saying both suck.

Thanks for the great insight.

Well, Gomez played top two lines.

Horcoff, I believe, was third-line? Even then, Horcoff PPG is way better than Gomez's.

Last season

Gomez played 80 games and scored 7 goals, 31 assists, -15

Horcoff played 47 games, scored 9 goals, 18 assists, -1.

+/- Is a bad one to include. The last time Horcoff played 70+ games he was -29.

Another Gomez rumor we'll never hear anything about after this one post? Must be a slow news day for Eklund.

I have an amazing idea.

Send him to the St. Louis Blues....then send him down to their ECHL affiliate.

He will get to play in Alaska again.

using a 1 year metric would be nice if both were young players but nice try at manipulating the stats.

why not look at the last 2 years? 3 years?

if you're arguing that gomez's decline is accelerating faster than horcoff's, i would point out that gomez is younger. and if you want to make that ludicrous argument based on the one year, i would counter that horcoff only playing 48 games last year means he is now injury prone.

If this happens MTL could be one heck of a team. They badly need to shed that salary. I hope they have to give up more just to dump Gomez and take back a bad contract. Gomez must be one of the least tradable players in the NHL today (yes, that is a made up word).

Can anyone think of someone less tradeable?
