Banned for calling someone a girl. Are we really that sensitive?
- nastyflyergirl

Yes. In fact, from now on all forms of reference to posters must be uniformly requested.

Excuse me, poster nastyflyergirl. I would like to officially and respectfully petition you for permission to refer to you, nastyflyergirl, as a female individual. I thank you for your consideration in the matter, and look forward to future professional and accepted forms of communication.

and the best way to address that is to IGNORE.
- nastyflyergirl

I understand that, and I do ignore it mostly. If I was a moderator, however, I would be singing a different tune. that is, unless you suggest they just don't do thei job, in which case why have them at all?

i love darroll powe, he's such an unsung hero on this team, great skater, hard worker consumate team guy, great signing homer, good job realizing his importance on this team. it's the "little" guys that make the difference on championship and we got our signed now.

I find them tiresome. It's annoying going to a rumor blog (i.e. not based on any hard facts or publications) and finding peole screaming at him to "do some research". I'm indifferent towards Eklund personally, he is what he is. However these people seem to just sit around waiting to tell him how unfounded his rumors are, as if there's some sort of chemical formula for the ebb and flow of the NHL he should be testing in a laboratory before posting.
- BulliesPhan87

Well... I know he says he's just purely reporting what he hears... but if he wants to retain some respect and credibility from site users, he has to start holding off on posting stuff like Brodeur for Semin... he brings it on himself more often than not. With that said, with everybody related to the NHL seemingly on twitter, there's really no reason to even read his blog... it's become completely irrelevant and only worth a visit for entertainment's sake.

JVR is a defesnively responsible Forward. He made his share of rookie mistakes, no doubt. But he showed a willingness to play a 2 way game. Giroux was never left with mediocre forwards.
- MJL

not sure i agree with you, while i too am a jvr fan i thought he game was lacking last year, but i do agree that he showed signed of promise

Their not medicore forwards. Giroux isn't this all great player that God forbid be playing with JVR and Asham. Two capable NHL players. One of them being the 2nd overall pick in the draft.
- MJL

bingo. Seriously back in the day when I was on the Flyersnewsgroup we didn't have mods and it was way more fun. Did it get ugly? yes but who the (frank) cares. and yes, you could say f*ck. I understand this is different. Ek has a good gig here with sponsors and such so he needs to have a better grip on things but some of the bans on here are flat out ridiculous.

At the end of the day, it is what it is: rumors. If I want confirmed transactions, I go to TSN. When I saw "rumors" describing what he reports (for lack of a better word) I knew it was meant to be taken with a grain of salt. He may not always post the most logical things, but the way people react you'd think he went around stabbing their dogs or something.

Seems like Ek's own threads aren't even modded as stringently as these threads. Pretty inconsistent across the site it. Sounds like officiating in a certain hockey league we are all familiar with.

Giroux's play was lacking during the regular season a lot of the time too, remember. I can't count how many times I watched him try to Forsberg his way to the net and put one (or more) too many moves on and end up turning the puck over. He had just as many uninspiring moments as his linemates.

Here is what you said.

"I doubt they waive Bartulis, it would basically be giving him away to a team because he would definitely be picked up."

I responded simply that Bartulis is waiver exempt. I'm entitled to respond, whether you like it or not.

He's playing his first Professional Season of Hockey, coming out of College. What would you expect. Would you expect his game to not be lacking at some points? He showed that he's trying to be an all aroound player and play both sides of the puck ,a dn be responsible defenseivly.
