I've seen Shelley be tough as nails and block shots just like what Lappy does.
- 2Real

Lappy averaged 2:50 seconds of PK icetime last year with the FLyers and blocked 74 shots.
Shelley averaged 0:00 of PK icetime with the Sharks last Season and blocked 7 shots. Shelley average 0:01 of PK icetime with the Rangers last Season and blocked 2 shots.

They are not the same type of player.

Note to everyone: Carter is not a 40 goal scorer.

Scoring 40 goals in 1 year does not make you a 40 goal scorer. He is a 30 goal scorer at this point.

- BradTardforGM

Pronger has only won one Stanley Cup and that was a few seasons ago.

Is a Stanley Cup winner or because he's only done it once he isn't?

Please prove that he would of scored in the high 30s or 40 goals! He scored 40 once in 5 years so I am pretty sure he isnt the next brett Hull, he may welll end up being the next Val Bure before its all done and over with.

He missed 8 games and would of had to average a goal every .875 games --- not happening, especially with how inconsistent he, and the team played all season

- lukin

With a full season under Laviolette, and hopefully a more consistent team, would you bet against him scoring 40 next year?

In my opinion, the last two years better represent what we can expect out of Carter in his prime
- Duran76

damn i'm glad you're not the GM you would have expected cheechoo to score over 50 in each of his prime years

And what do all of us have in common we post on a message board and are not in any position within a hockey club making any decisions in putting a club together.

And clearly according to Homer and many trader rumors the amount of teams calling him to see if he has interest in trading Carter or any deal he try's to make Carter's name is always brought up so that tells you, me and everybody Homer and other teams think differently about Carter and his abilities.

No he's the most trade-able player because he lacks the NTC or NMC with still a huge amount of untapped potential.

I stand corrected what little time I saw of him must have skewed the results. I now change my opinion of the deal to WHAT THE (frank) WAS HOMER THINKING

and you think Leino is the next Lemieux based on 19 playoff games. So who's more delusional? That was rhetorical. I knew I hated NJ for a reason

why because we know how to drive? Leino showed us he's ready to take the next step and isn't lazy

he showed that to Detroit too if I'm not mistaken, and I believe they gave him up for OKT after he was Cote'd for a s load of games.

Yet that's why Detroit traded him because they flat out said he was lazy.

Coach Mike Babcock would tell us after games how Leino was too easily snuffed out by the opposition. He said it so often it became a verb -- "The guy got Leino'd on that play."
