i'm just thinking of zherdev as a one year see what you can do kind of thing. i have a hard time seeing the flyers sign him again next summer
- FlyerMike18

If he comes in, works his tail off, and shows a solid two way game, I could see him returning...but he'd have to do it for a full season and in the playoffs...none of this 7 great games followed by 10 invisible ones, crap.

my comment was more about the financial situation. i just can't see it working out next year that he's a flyer. i can't see a situation in which they'd be able to afford him. unless both kimmo and briere go, i guess. if he has a good year i think he's gonna be right back up in the 4 mil range with his salary demands, just a hunch though

Yes, because Carter's two way game doesn't disappear. He's a streaky scorer, not a streaky two way player.

Zherdev hasn't shown any inclination to be a good two way player when he's going great-in the past if he hasn't been scoring, he hasn't done jackpoop. Carter does a lot more than score, people with more than 3 brain cells can recognize that.

That's BrewDog for you. They make some head-scratchers like the 41% ABV India Pale Ale, Sink the Bismarck, but their Paradox series of whiskey barrel-aged stouts is fantastic (though pricey).

It was sarcastic.. he just said Marty (instead of Turco). Id be the last person to want to see Biron back in net... hell he is shakier with the puck the Michael J Fox.
- jak521

I meant that in regards to trading for JSG, which I assume stands for Jean Sebastian Giguere.

Exactly. Especially not for Carter and Hartnell. Mights as well throw in Giroux and Richards if that was the plan.

pains me to agree with you but i am. when carter isnt scoring there is a noticeable difference in his game. plus, carter is paid to put the biscuit in the basket, not for an excellent two way game.

I think Carter is fine defensively when he isn't scoring. He's mindful of his positioning and was, along with most of the skaters, rather effective in keeping the puck out to the perimeter, aay from in front of the net.

As for "paid to score", all players, especially star players, are paid to play their best hockey in all aspects of the game. He's just as much paid for defensive responsiblity as he his for scoring, especially considering his position.
